Run warm up/down (Mardley Heath) 15:00 [2] 2.5 km (6:00 / km) +50m 5:27 / km
shoes: Inov8 Oroc 340 III

Warm up and longer warm down

Orienteering race (Mardley Heath) 44:06 [4] **** 6.0 km (7:21 / km)
spiked:25/30c shoes: Inov8 Oroc 340 III

SE Middle Champs - Black M20-40 - Mardley Heath

Cool little forested old gravel mining area. Parts like BEOC middle 2013. Lots of small hills and detail, ideal for a middle race. I was flying for the first half and hit a really good balance of running hard simplifying to AP then slowing just enough to hit the control in the detailed sections. Following the map turn and a long leg, mistakes started creeping in and I switched off near the end. Luckily enough I had enough time in the bag to still take the win. Physically I felt good especially in the bumpy terrain

Mistakes ~5:00mins
(7)(0:15) - Drifted in brambles a bit missed AP
(14)(0:15) - Confused by more detail on the ground than on map in circle
(17)(2:00) - Navigated to c18 then panicked and overshot v short leg back
(26)(0:30) - Drifted off bearing and reloc. off c27
(30)(2:00) - Last control, pushed too hard, misread paths mid leg then hit wrong control (twice) before reloc.

Run warm up/down (Oaklands College) 22:00 [2] 3.5 km (6:17 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Flyroc 310 VII

Warm up and down for both races

Orienteering - Urban race (Oaklands College) 13:55 [5] *** 2.6 km (5:21 / km)
spiked:22/23c shoes: Inov8 Flyroc 310 VII

SE Sprint Champs - Race 1 M18-40 - Oaklands College

Mix of college/campus urban and bits of forest. Generally went well in the urban bits but a bit surprised by the 1:3k scale in the forest and had lots of small hesitations. For some reason got ahead of myself in the second bit of forest and on leaving c14 thought I had left c16. So missed c15 & 16. Didn't realise until the end, game over - MP. Shame as over the rest of the course I had ~15sec lead, mostly earned through speed over the last 3rd of the course.

Orienteering - Urban race (Oaklands College) 13:59 [5] *** 2.7 km (5:11 / km)
spiked:20/23c shoes: Inov8 Flyroc 310 VII

SE Sprint Champs - Race 2 M18-40 - Oaklands College

Same area but no forest and some easier open golf course to start. I started first so couldn't follow other starters routes to c1 and also had to wake up some of the early controls which all cost me a bit of time. Couple of mistakes near the end as I was tiring.

Mistakes ~0:30 sec
(17)(0:10) - Fell for a slight trap after spectator
(20)(0:20) - Longer RC and distracted looking for 21 on the way

Actual Distance Run: 3.3k (4.15m/km)
