Cycling 3:43:00 [3] 45.5 mi (4:54 / mi)

So, contrary to what many Scots will tell you, there are some really nice places south of Durham.
We visited several today, starting from Garlieston to Burrowhead, which has mapping possibilities via the Isle of Whithorn. The Port William, Loch head and back.
Another glorious September day, not too warm, not too cold, just right.
Jane got her swim in Clatteringshaws on the drive home.

Cycling 3:05:00 [3] 42.0 mi (4:24 / mi)

We'd been faffing for ages about what to do this weekend, then Angela Dixon posted on FB about a trip to Galloway and it all fell into place. That said, it's a bloody long way to Stranraer. Ayr Airshow causing A77 inertia in Ayrshire.

Then lunch and it was nearly 3 before we finally rolled out of Stranraer uphill and over to Portpatrick. Then a scenic long hot slow hilly backroad across the Rhinns of Galloway. Sped up a bit when back on the coast road, but by Drummore it became clear we were too late for the Mull. Although perhaps we weren't as a gentle tailwind blew us the flat 16 miles back to Stranraer in 55mins, Wheee! This may have had something to do with the sugar rush from eating 4 ice creams each in the harbour.
Tired and weary to the airBNB in a mansion near Wigtown and a short trip for dinner.in beautiful Garlieston (we drove).
