Looking forward to getting out today, but a parade of work meant it got to 7 before I looked up. So round Frogstane and Buckstone in the dark and cold. Chucked in an extra km getting lost in Buckstone :(.

Still, very nice to be out running on fresh legs.

Note

Northern Champs wipeout. Fender-bending crash on the way to the nights, missed it by the time it was sorted. Limped home, then spent Saturday waiting for a tow truck.

In, then Inch and the estate at lunchtime with mild fartlek. actually, very mild fartlek.

Results are in from Barr Wood. Basically, I was slowest on every leg, except when others made mistakes. I was also going as fast as I could commensurate with not falling over. Message is, need to be more realistic about the sort of terrain I can hop through.

FVO night race, mass start, Barr Wood. Last by a very long way.

It hss been many years since I last went to do night O, now I remember why. Group was still in sight en route to 2, but several faceplants already, then got completely dropped trying to get through some rough felling rubbish. Over 20 min on 2-3 on a vague slope with no real plan, all pretty terrible. Saw the group again at 5 (they were at 17). After that, quite a lot better up on the nicer bit, but still unable to run without falling.
