running (Warmup) 5:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 15

Helped out with rego until pretty much the last start time. Did a warm up to help get the head into race mode after a hectic morning

Orienteering race (Ecu joondalup) 19:27 [5] *** 3.66 km (5:19 / km)
ahr:186 max:194 shoes: Asics Kayano 15

Stuffed the first control big time with Graham catching me here. Held him pretty much through to 14 then caught him again at 17. By then I was struggling to recover from the extremely high heart rate. Kept him in sight to the finish

Got into camp at 3.30pm whilst the yr 12's got into camp at 4.45 pm. Both groups started at approx same time in the morning. Have only logged ride time!!

shoes: Specialized Epic Marathon Car

13 kids and 2 staff along with me as we ride the Munda biddi for three days. Started off well until one of the kids got a flat a d they realized no one had packed a pump. Dejavu!! I had to ride back to camp to pick one up which was not I wanted to do with a slight head cold trying to break.

Looking forward to sharing my birthday cake with the 13 vultures swarming around. At least the weather is glorious.

Road Cycling (Floreat) 1:20:00 [4] 43.0 km (1:52 / km)
ahr:164 max:188 shoes: Giant TCR 2

Rocked up this morning to see a danger but no old man. Group was still pissing about at 5 past 6 when as usual i lead the group out. Buggered if i know what they did when i wasnt there for 5 weeks :-)

Rode ont he fron through to challenger pde and then dropped back into 3rd spot. Good solid pace through to cott and then did a roll through before the group split. Held onto 3rd place through to leighton before 3 or for blew past at 55kph. I was struggling to hold 50kph today which relfects 5 weeks of no group riding.

Recovered through to mosman park and then got dropped on hill climb to water tower but still wasnt last. Danger at this stage had gotten ahead and stayed in front through to CCGS.

At this point i jumped close to the front again and held position through to the roll down Steves when i took the lead.

Had a lead out guy that wound the pace up once we passed the roundabout at australia II drive. held second place all the way to the sprint line sitting on 45kph.

Usual ride home trying to keep avg speed up.

MTBO (Warmup) 13:00 [3] 3.5 km (3:43 / km)
shoes: Specialized Epic Marathon Car

Decided to do a reasonable warmup before today's ride so i put myself in a good position for a podium. Got 9min in before my chain broke. Luckily this happened on the warmup and not during the race!! I cursed at Tricky who was starter for putting the mockers on me.
10 AM

MTBO race (Carinah) 1:42:25 [4] *** 35.05 km (2:55 / km)
slept:8.0 shoes: Specialized Epic Marathon Car

The plan for today was to push at all times reminding myself to have laboured breathing happening which meant i was in zone 4.

Took off to 1 and caught the guy in front of me by the time i got to control 1. Passed a few people onto 2 before nearly being taken out by a black boar, which had shot out of the bush like a bullet. Luckily the second boar turned the opposite way.

3 to 4 i took the option that involved the deleted track from previous years. I thoought it odd this year that the option was open and i suspect it wasnt vetted this time as i missed the junction and then upon riding it, it just vanished. At this stage 2 people were scratchign their heads as i belted past them. Managed to find the track again 5m later and yelled back to them that i had found it. Managed to punch 4 and ride back to the junction just as they popped out.

Took the the MB tail to 5 as i figured it would be a firmer surface to ride. 5 to 6 was problematic with the amoun of trees block the track that werent mapped.

Kept pushing hard all the time with the thought of keeping my work load high. punched 12 and thought it was going to be risky coming into the finish with the start using the same track. Managed to get around a competitor just in sight of the finish line before laying a nice broadie in front of Ken Post and all the specatators!!
