Running 30:00 [2] 3.43 mi (8:45 / mi)
weight:188lbs shoes: Saucony Grid Aura TR

Ran with the doggies on the Auburn Trail in Victor, starting at Rt. 251. Nice day, a bit windy but not too bad. A number of other people were also out on the trail

Running 29:00 [3] 3.35 mi (8:39 / mi) +49ft 8:32 / mi
max:150 weight:188lbs shoes: Mizuno Wave Creation 6

First run in nearly a week. Have to make this training more frequent! Too lazy over the holidays. Ran on roads, w/o dogs, up Maple to Klem, Klem to Bay, and then back home via Bay. Tried out three Christmas presents -- running gloves from my daughter, and heavy-duty tights and a fairly heavy top from my wife. All worked well.

Running 25:00 [3] 2.94 mi (8:30 / mi) +66ft 8:20 / mi
max:160 weight:188lbs shoes: Saucony Grid Aura TR

After doing some shopping in the morning, when it was nice out, by the time I was inspired to run, it was dark, overcast, and very windy. Not real pleasant. I decided to head to Webster Park and run on trails, where it would be somewhat sheltered from the wind. So Homer, Hazel, and I did a fairly short run, 25 minutes. Trails weren't in too bad of shape, except for one semi long stretch where there were frequent muddy areas that were tough to avoid. Weight was up a couple of pounds which isn't a good sign given that it's probably not going to do anything but go higher over the next couple of weeks ...

Running (Treadmill) 28:00 [2] 2.8 mi (10:00 / mi)
weight:186lbs shoes: Saucony Grid Aura TR

Treadmill workout at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics before I went into work for a few hours. I really dislike treadmills, but I'm determined to get to where I can tolerate treadmill workouts, because I also dislike running outdoors on cool rainy days like today. And I figure that any workout is better than none. Today, I had the incline set to a 2% grade for most of the time, and to a 4% grade for 5 minutes. My goal is to build up to where I can do most of the workout on an 8-10% grade (recognizing that my pace will be much slower).

Running 35:00 [2] 3.96 mi (8:50 / mi)
max:155 weight:186lbs shoes: Saucony Grid Excursion TR

First run in a week, after getting back from Puerto Rico. Felt fairly non-energetic. Ran on the canal, starting at Lyndon Rd and heading east. Made it to the next road (Wayneport Rd I believe), ran about halfway back, and got lazy and walked most of the rest of the way.

Running 38:00 [3] 4.22 mi (9:00 / mi) +394ft 8:16 / mi
shoes: Saucony Grid Aura TR

Another run in Puerto Rico. Tackled a more significant hill, so although my estimated pace was quite slow, it really felt like a fairly substantial workout. Was in SW part of island, and ran in Guanica national forest (we were staying right by it). Still hot, humid, and hilly, but also very scenic. Nice place for a run, all in all.

Running 35:00 [3] 4.0 mi (8:45 / mi) +164ft 8:25 / mi
shoes: Saucony Grid Aura TR

On vacation in Puerto Rico. Ran in the morning, but it was still hot, humid, and hilly (the three "H's"). Felt slow and sluggish but figured it was better than not running at all.

Running hills (Treadmill hills) 29:00 [4] 2.5 mi (11:36 / mi) +656ft 9:17 / mi
shoes: Saucony Grid Excursion TR

My first treadmill workout of the season, at the fitness center at one of my part time jobs. For approximately half of the total time, I had the incline set quite steep, 11-12%. That slowed my pace way down, at time to a fast walking pace, but even so it was a strenuous workout. I basically can't stand treadmill workouts, so this was just to start trying to get accustomed to them, to a point where I can tolerate a few workouts a week on them. I'm still using as a goal the prospect of doing the Pike's Peak ascent next August, in which case I need to do significant hill workouts over the winter, either outdoors or on the treadmill.
