West Highland Way Race - Sweeping with Rhona McKinnon
(Glencoe Ski Resort - Kinlochleven)

Data to be confirmed, but amazing night hike up the Devil's Staircase and down into KLL.

Really really slow behind broken man along past Buichaille Etive Mor (spelling?) as chap trudged to the end of his race at Allt Na Feith (poor sod could not feel his feet and had little balance left), then hike over Devil at own pace with Rhona to catch up next folk.

Descent was brutal, rocky stuff at top was lovely but once onto fire road down from pumping house my L knee was screaming at me every step.

Think it might be related to the inner knee pain I got recently, worried it might be ligament damage. WTF is happening to me? Is it old age?

Managed 2 1/2 hrs sleep in car at KLL. Broken body after my wee bit, nothing compared to the 95 miles the 157 competitors who finished thought, what legends!

Walking 15:00 [3] 1.6 km (9:22 / km)
(injured) shoes: Saucony Progrid Ride 3 (Blue)

Nice wee warm down style trot to meet last man on course and the rest of sweep team to walk into finish together.

Great experience, great race, great feats of human endeavour... I'll be there next year I hope sweeping again!

West Highland Way Race - Sweeping
(Beinglas Farm to Bridge of Orchy)

Long slow trod along some amazing trails I'd covered before to Tyndrum, then added extra section to BOO to replace Scott who wanted more rest.

L calf (very top inside right behind knee) got sore towards end. Sore to fully extend too. New pain I've not felt before.
