WOLV-cup 3, Tulbinger Kogel.
Cloudy day, with the occasional drizzle. Quite wet and dark in the forest.
1) Little confused in the middle of the leg, 5" checking trail directions.
2) Not sure if through the old quarry was the best, steep walls. Definitely fun though.
3) Stood still for a few seconds and finally decided on going around. In hindsight straight was actually better, but i didn't dare to. Messed up the last part of the leg, not precise enough with the compass +1'30".
5) Overshot the control, noticed when i spotted the clearing with the feeding lot. +1".
6) Tough leg, don't think i got the best micro route choices but straight was best.
7) Not precise enough with compass, was pissed off with the underfoot here - old forestry works had left stumps and branches that were overgrown with grass, not fun. +1".
9) Map a bit unprecise here, but found the control ok.
11) Rather running fast than orienteering fast.
12) Beautiful forest at the creek.
13) Didn't pick the fastest route, straight across the field would've been better despite the extra 10m of climb, i think.
Not really satisfied, especially the bigger mistakes annoyed me. Seems like others made mistakes too, and my physical shape is perhaps not too bad. Definitely noticed i can't run at full intensity, not quite used yet to the challenges in this terrain.
