Orienteering (Easter Day 1) 55:55 [5] 6.74 km (8:18 / km) +243m 7:02 / km
spiked:17/19c shoes: Inov8 Trailroc 255

At Isaacs Ridge in Canberra's south. Ominous looking big hill but after the steep climb to the start, course was pretty good except for long slog 4 up to 5. Only big error was getting 4 before 3 which was frustrating, costing me probably 1-2 minutes. Smaller error when stopped short on 14. Rob V caught me on 4 to 5 leg but managed to hang on to him until 10 and then lost him in the pine! LONG way behind Warren (41ish) but surprisingly inside top 10: 8th dead heat with Geoff T.

Orienteering race (Easter Public Prologue) 23:34 [5] *** 4.19 km (5:37 / km) +55m 5:17 / km
spiked:22/23c shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 16 Blue

Ran Hard 1 and started with a young guy. We basically ran the whole race together with a few different route choices. Was good to have someone to push me along. Only real error was on 2 where I started to go right before reading the map and then saw the uncrossable walls and had to back track.

Usual morning loop down to the railway viaduct; very dark at 6:00am - glad I had the head lamp - but really pleasant running conditions.

Morning run down to the river and along to Wiradjuri reserve then back to the Riverina Playhouse car park to pick up our car which had left there last night whilst we went to the Food and Wind Festival. Nice running conditions.
