Orienteering race (ACT Sprint Champs) 24:36 [5] *** 3.49 km (7:03 / km) +58m 6:31 / km
spiked:14/17c shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 16 Blue

ACT Sprint at CIT. Missed 1 to the left but good thru to 7 then totally lost it at 8 - 90 degree error out of 7, across a marsh twice (didn't think to stop and check!). Eventually relocated off a road but lost more than 3 minutes. The rest were OK except for 14 when I went the wrong side of the building.

Not sure what happened to the Garmin: time and distance are ok but it shows me running from Kaleen to CIT!

Orienteering race (Summer Series #9) 27:14 [5] 3.87 km (7:02 / km) +68m 6:28 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 16 Blue

Summer Series on the sprint map at CSU. Nice running in light rain and cool conditions at the tail end of the big storm that hit town around 4:00pm. Got all the controls with just under 3 minutes to spare but managed to get 2 wrong answers:-( Good hit out ahead of the Canberra races on the weekend. Not sure what Garmin was doing, start was at the same place as the finish.....

Orienteering (Club training weekend) 1:30:00 [2]
shoes: Inov8 Trailroc 255

Map walk and then control placement, again with 2 less experienced club members, on the excellent Barombogies granite map.

Orienteering (Club training weekend) 25:00 [4]
shoes: Inov8 Trailroc 255

Control collection at Barombogies after other club members had completed a short course.

A really enjoyable weekend with easily the largest turnout we have had in many years for a training camp with 28 active participants plus 5 young "future" orienteers. Very encouraging was the number of very keen juniors who attended. Although I didn't do a lot of difficult orienteering, it was good be back out running in the terrain.
