Note
(injured)

Ankle very sore again today. I fear it is the arthritis flaring up again. A few days rest this weekend might help (well almost rest: playing golf Saturday and Sunday at Queanbeyan)

Note

Another day trip, this time to Sydney and back (by plane) so no time at all for a run. Ankle still very tender but hope to get out tomorrow.

Note

Day trip driving to and from Deniliquin left little time (or motivation) for training. Really sore right ankle after 10km yesterday so rest not a bad thing.

Running race (Wagga Trail Marathon 10km) 46:58 [3] 9.73 km (4:50 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 12

Ran the 10km at today's Trail Marathon event. Due to the river being up a lot, parts of the course were flooded (effected the Marathon too) so meant a slight diversion at the start. An out and back course with an extra loop at the end to get the 10km but, unfortunately, there was no race marshall at the point where the last loop started and all the leaders seem to have simply cut the course short and gone straight to the finish, running only about 8km.

I knew we were short as I had my Garmin on and it showed only 7.6km when I reached the start of the extra loop so I kept going, as had 2 ladies just in front of me. When I caught them shortly after, they indicated that we were definitely right in keeping going. When I reached the correct turnaound point, the marshall was somewhat surprised that I was in front!

I was therefore first to finish of those who ran the whole course but am not getting too carried away with the "win" but was nonetheless very happy with the way I ran!
