Running race (Road Runners) 40:15 [4] 8.0 km (5:02 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11

Roadies monthly handicap: missed my start time (misread the list!) by a about 10 seconds (no big deal) and then slowly worked into the run. Caught a group of 3 guys after about 10 minutes and steadily moved past Dave and Jeff, but Mick pulled away impressively about mid course. Happy with my pace up the big, long hill and then was able to stretch out a bit over the last kilometre or so, getting back to within 50 metres or so of Mick. 2 minutes faster than 2 weeks ago so happy with that.

The race was stage managed beautifully to avoid rain either side! We had 20mm overnight and this morning and 10mm more this afternoon.

Running 42:35 [3] 8.0 km (5:19 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11

Afternoon lap of the Lake with Briohny and initially Deb (she dropped back a bit after the first km but did the full lap) and then I did a bit extra by running home. 5.5 km lap was at a steady pace set by Briohny and we chatted a lot. It was a good long warm up, so I was able to push quite hard for the 2.5km back home, which was good, apart from a few hammy twinges!

Ordered a new pair of Nimbus 11s last night from Wiggle: a steal at $135 including postage!!

Cycling 51:20 [4] 14.0 km (3:40 / km)

The rain cleared so dusted off the bike for my regular Lake Albert/Rawlings Park loop after work. A bit slow today, dodging a few large puddles and constantly checking to make sure the new tail light didn't fall off! It didn't but turns out I hadn't fitted it properly:) Enjoyed the ride but fitness levels still need work. Lookung forward to a few longer runs tomorrow and over the weekend.

Note
(rest day)

Had planned either a run or cycle but the rain was just too heavy this afternoon, 45mm in the gauge by late last night!

Running 40:10 [3] 7.5 km (5:21 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11

Twilight run from home out to Apex Park via the Boat Club and return. Almost dark by the time I got home. Felt like I was moving along OK but time reflects lack of fitness. Much work to do before QBIII!

Club event at The Rock. Pretty happy with the run and nav was good for the most part. Grateful for the minimal climb today - thanks Briohny!

Helped Briohny and Deb collect controls. Legs a bit heavy after the 2 hour break between runs.
