Note
(rest day)

Briohny's Wedding, with lots of APers there!! All went very well, apart from a very close call with the weather but with perfect timing, the rain stopped 5 minutes before the open air ceremony started!
7 AM

Running 30:35 [3] 5.5 km (5:34 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 10

Morning run (pre-wedding) with Briohny, Felicity, Catherine and Belinda. A lap of the Lake from the Boat Club. Let Bri set the pace as she shouldn't really have been running but had this one planned long before her enforced layoff. Cool and calm but with a sense of a storm to follow! (and it bit).

Did a bit more running around later in the day but can't really log Briohny's Wedding as training:-)

Cycling 54:00 [3] 18.0 km (3:00 / km)

Morning ride with Briohny. She had already done an hour before picking me up at home and we then did my usual Lake, Rawlings, Mitchell Rd loop. Nice to have some company for a change and we had a good chat. First time I have done this route on a workday morning and lots of traffic, including a number of school buses, made it a bit interesting at times!

Orienteering race (Summer Series) 37:10 [5] **** 4.2 km (8:51 / km) +45m 8:24 / km
spiked:37/39c shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 10

Summer series on CSU sprint map. John set 42 control points and I managed to get 39 in just over 37 minutes (45 min time limit). Great fun working out which way to go with so many controls in such a small area. Some clues were very difficult (such as reading letters/numbers about 3mm high on signs and finding a flat stormwater cover in an open grassy field) and spent quite a few seconds at some trying to get the right answer. As it turned out, could have easily got all 42 but over-estimated of how long it would take to get around. Time included a desperately needed toilet stop at control 54 (which happened to be a toilet building!).

Running 46:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:07 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 10

Afternoon run on return from Albury. Out past the Boat Club and southern end of the Lake into Rawlings Park, then return. Pretty warm and humid. A slow start but then got moving along quite well.

9 holes of golf at Albury Golf Club after work. Course in outstanding condition. Must have had lots of rain compared to home. Nice to be hitting off green fairways! New driver works a treat!

Orienteering race 47:48 [5] ** 6.2 km (7:43 / km) +140m 6:56 / km
spiked:16/17c shoes: Helly Hansen Trailcutter

First park/bush run for the season at Willan's Hill. Good to run in the terrain again and navigation was good in a fairly straightforward area. Just a couple of slight hesitations near the circle. Warm and humid.
