Running race 33:04 [5] 7.0 km (4:43 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 10

First Road Runners run of the new year at Wagga Beach. Common sense has finally prevailed and we will start at 8:00am for February and today there was a big turn out of runners, walkers and at least 8 dogs!

A slightly different course than previous years, starting at the Beach and out along the levee and underpass to Copland Street then turn around and back to the Beach.

I ran the whole way with Keith Collin, who is a much faster runner than me, and we talked just about the whole way! Good fun but hard work so was very pleased with my time, especially this early in the year.

Note

Golf this afternoon and a very disappointing effort in Monthly Medal: 79 net which is 9 over handicap. Only high notes were 2 birdies and (hopefully) NTP on par 3 10th.

Note

Just found out that I got an invite (ie don't have to pay!) to the Leeton Pro-Am golf tournament. I went 2 years back and it's a great weekend - but I can't go...it's on the same weekend as SL1 and 2 at Clandulla which we are committed to! Swear and curse... :-(

Orienteering race (Street O) 42:05 [5] * 8.4 km (5:01 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 10

Summer Series at Lake Albert. Warm and humid to start but a change had come through by the time I finished and it was quite pleasant. Ran pretty well after a slowish start. Picked a route pretty much around the outside of the map and got all but one of the high point controls. Was tiring towards the end so was a bit over-cautious and got back with almost 3 minutes to spare. Overall happy with the run.

Cycling warm up/down 20:00 [3] 8.0 km (2:30 / km)

Exercise bike 30:00 [3]

Piked on a morning run: just needed to sleep a bit longer! Wasn't too hot so planned a cycle after work but was too windy, plus had immunisation shots for China trip today and both shoulders very sore, so ended up doing a spin on the exercise bike. Probably used up all my excuses for this week.

Running 38:30 [3] 7.5 km (5:08 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 10

Morning run around the Lake. Had trouble getting going today and never felt like I had any drive. Realised about 2/3 into the run that I had forgotten to eat anything before heading out, so that may explain the lack of energy

The Lake is a sorry sight, with its hundreds of dead fish floating on the surface :-( Obviously a lack of oxygen in the shallow muddy sludge that is left, so the fish are just dying. Council and other workers out this morning netting and disposing of them before they start to stink.
