Orienteering race 34:25 [4] **** 3.5 km (9:50 / km) +115m 8:27 / km
spiked:16/17c shoes: Helly Hansen Trailcutter

Aust Middle Distance at a wet Chewton Diggings. No expectations today due to injury and subsequent lack of training. Missed #1 by about a minute, too far right but after that navigation was good with no significant errors. Slowish on the long leg 8 to 9 (and didn't see track option) but happy with 7th. See how the leg is tomorrow.

Running 31:00 [2] 5.5 km (5:38 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 10

Very slow lap of Lake with Briohny. Lots of chat and we stopped and tried all the new exercise stations. Some are good, some not so but a good concept overall. Sad reflection but we commented on how long it will be before they get vandalised :-(

Back OK but hammy still sore. Suspect I will be concentrating on navigation not speed this weekend.

Orienteering race 40:15 [2] * 5.0 km (8:03 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 10

Up in Sydney for the weekend so decided to have a crack at the WHO event at Cumberland/Westmead Hospital. Good fun event on a Sprint style map at 1:10000.

Didn't attempt to go fast due to injury concerns, so hoped the navigation would be spot on - it wasn't!! Trouble actually working out how to get to # 1 (had to cross the river - ended up going across a weir) then settled into a bit of rythm until # 8 when I mis-read the details near another river crossing and ran past it. Slow to # 9 on rock in the (dry) river bed and then last couple OK.

Overall quite happy although a little sore in the hammy afterwards.
