Running race 38:32 [5] 8.0 km (4:49 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 9

Road Runners at Wiradjuri Reserve. This is a nice run along the river but it was too hot today, hitting 30C when we were running. Pushed too hard in the first half and really had to hang on to get home. Happy with the time but might try and go out a bit slower next week, especially if it is hot again.

Running 26:19 [3] 5.4 km (4:52 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 9

Afternoon lap of the lake with Briohny (Deb did a 4km out and back). Borrowed Briohny's Garmin 405 to see how it worked. After about 15 minutes had a look and we were racing along at 4:30k's which was a bit too quick for me so slowed it a bit. Felt pretty tight in Achilles and quads but enjoyed the run.

Note
(rest day)

Down and back trip to Sydney (6:30am to 8:30pm) left no time for a run. My birthday anyway so reckon I deserved a day off :-)

Note
(rest day)

Probably needed a recovery run but a long day at work plus O club meeting left little time so no go!

Running race 1:43:36 [5] 21.1 km (4:55 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 9

Melbourne Half Mararthon. Pretty happy with the result given the interupted preparation. About 30 seconds faster than Canberra last year so I guess thatis a PB :-) Achilles held up OK during the run but was pretty saw afterwards. Kept ahead of the 1:40 and 1:45 pace makers until the 19km mark when both passed me but I managed to get back ahead of the 1:45. They seemed a bit confused themselves as the 1:45 guy was ahead of the 1:40 for most of the race!

Massive field (7700+) so a bit slow at the start but conditions were great - cool and overcast for most of the run. A real buzz finishing on the MCG!!
