Deb and I ran the CSU long course from last weekend. Probably last sprint training before WMOC! Tested the Marin's on hard surfaces in the hope of taking just one pair of running shoes OS and they were pretty good:-)

First Roadies run in about 2 months! Medium course at Lake Albert. Steady pace and unfortunately felt hip discomfort most of the way:-( Forgot to start my Garmin until abt 500m into the course so added a bit of time and distance.

Ride with Deb, same route as last week but a bit further. Also a lot colder today as the morning fog refused to lift!. Tested out the new roadie and, whilst a few adjustments needed, was very happy.

A better run today but still a big error, running past 5 and getting into the wrong gully. Lucky to relocate but ran and navigated well before and after. Not a great area with lots of unavoidable thick green in very steep gullies. Won't be rushing back here.

Great area but totally stuffed 6 (-11 minutes!) with smaller errors on 3 and 7. Otherwise ran and navigated well with 3 fastest splits on the course. Disappointing result!

Figured it was time to get on our bikes as we have a week of cycling in France in July. Nice out and back ride with Deb from Kurrajong Reserve along Paterson's Rd. Very little traffic which was good as it's a pretty narrow road. Need to build the distance a bit over the next few weeks. Deb was on her roadie and I think I need one too as my MTB is quite heavy!

Middle Distance race at Orroral Crossing. Thick scrubbing bush with scattered rock meant a slow run. Navigation held up well in low visibility with my only error being on the easy last control where I exited the previous in the wrong direction and lost over 1 minute and any chance of 3rd. Took an unplanned dip in the (cold) river en route to 4. Oddity was that my course today was shorter than yesterday's sprint!

ACT Sprint Champs at Canberra Boys Grammar, a compact 1:3000 map so had a map flip. No real issues with navigation, just a few hesitations on best route. A little slow as lacking fitness but still almost pinched 3rd place, beaten by just 1 second!

Afternoon lap of the Lake whilst Deb did a 30 min walk. First time at the Lake for a long time - pre-Christmas I think. All injured/sore body parts held up ok:-)
