Shortish session on the exercise bike to try and get some work into the dodgy knee. In the garage under the house with the door open but absolutely soaked with sweat!! Not at all sure what the Garmin thought I was doing, but I didn't leave the garage!

Note

Comp golf at Dubbo (here for a friend's 50th birthday). Very poor effort with just 26 stableford points. Putting was very bad (couldn't get the speed right on unfamiliar greens) with 4 x 3 putts, and irons not much better.

Short morning run from home. Overcast (ahead of the forecast rain) but very humid.

Post run, I managed to injure myself whilst taking Ryder's child seat out of the car before we headed to Dubbo. Audible "click" in left knee....quite sore, not happy!

Morning run, usual route out the back. Surprisingly cool especially in some hollows along the powerline track. Breathing a little better so maybe turned the corner.

Morning run out the back gate and down to the cemetery but turned right along Kooringal Rd bike path down to the roundabout at O'Halloran Park where I turned around and came back. A couple of handy water stops in the cemetery and at the Kings Church near the turnaround. Feeling a little bit stronger but still a lot of work to do!

Deb and I ticked over 34 years of marriage today:-) Don't know how she's put up with me for so long!

Note

Comp golf in hot conditions (42C) although it didn't really feel that oppressive. Played quite well with only a few blimps for 38 points. Putting was a roller coaster with 7 on first 3 holes - low point was a 3-putt from inside 2 metres on a steep downhill on the 2nd - then only 8 more for the rest of the front nine including 4 one-putts. Rehydrated at the 19th:-)

Morning run from home, early to try and beat the heat. Going to be hard to get any serious training in this week with temps in the 40s from now thru to Friday.

Usual route out the back gate and down to the river. Struggled again with breathing and finally went and saw the doc this afternoon. He's given me an asthma inhaler as he has identified a definite "wheeze" in the chest. Will use for a couple of weeks and then back off to see if it improves.

At the Beach again but a different course to December, out and back to the Copland St roundabout. Started OK, feeling pretty good but it didn't last past about 2 km when I slowed down due to "wheeze" in the chest again. Felt pretty wasted at the end.

Note

Comp golf in 35+ temps. Played a 4BBB and my partner (8 marker) and I were going pretty well until the 13th where we both wiped. We just couldn't get going after that and only scored a miserable 16pts for the whole back nine, 8 of which came at 10, 11 and 12! We finished on 39pts which was well off the mark set by our playing partners with 50. After the 12th we were level with them but fell away badly.

Was overall very happy with driving and hit quite a few long and straight but chipping and putting were both ordinary.

Afternoon run from Briohny's house back home via Plumpton and Kooringal Rds and then the cemetery and powerline track. Somewhat unplanned and no Garmin so time and distance a bit of an estimate. Struggled with the warm weather and lack of fitness but slowly making progress.

Morning run at the Lake with Briohny. We ran from the dog exercise park to Apex Park and then out through Rawlings Park to Mitchell Rd and back again. Deb was walking Ryder in his pram and we met them at the playground on our way back. Had my first go at pram running and it is hard work!

Still feeling short of breath when running. Hopefully will get better soon otherwise may have to see the Doc.

Morning run with Deb from our hotel in Coogee along the cliff top path. Deb ran to the cemetery between Clovelly and Bronte whilst I went a bit further, almost to Bronte, and then turned back. Very hard work with lots of stairs and climb, both up and down. Fitness level at a low after 3 days of cricket watching and golf!

Comp golf at The Coast. This is a nice little course, with some great holes along the cliff tops at Little Bay in Sydney, but fearsome in the wind and it was blowing hard from the north east today! Overall pretty happy with 32 points comsidering I lost 4 balls in the scrub or over the cliffs!
