Morning run from motel in Albury down to the river and along the path to the West Albury wetlands where I turned back. Felt OK at the start but then started feeling a bit queezy. Had a drink of water in the Botanic Gardens and was OK after that.

Long run with Briohny from her house. Up onto Tatton ridge where we joined the marathon trail behind Hilltop, then along the new (and hilly!!) section of the Wiradjuri Walking Track between Lloyd and the Glenoak rural subdivision before dropping down into Silvalite and some nice downhill. Left the marathon track there and headed back under the railway line and along Red Hill Rd all the way to Tatton ridge then back to Briohny's house along the lower trail.

Longest run for me since the Half Mara and it was tough in some places but good to get out and nice to have some company. Stopped for a couple of photos on the new walking track section.

Handicap day but started off scratch with Briohny as had to get home in time to fill the trailer for Free Tip day! We ran the whole way together and we paced it a bit slower as we have a long run planned for tomorrow morning.

Afternoon ride from home to Briohny's house via Vincent, Mitchell and Brunskill Rds before going through Rawlings Park and around the end of the Lake. A tough ride as there was a strong and blustery sou-wester blowing so I had a head all the way apart from the last 200m!

Morning run from hotel in Sydney. Through Hyde Park, across the Domain and then around and through the Botanic Gardens and back to the hotel. Spectacular morning views across Sydney harbour but stop-start in the city with traffic and pedestrians!

Ran (unofficial) the long course that I helped set up yesterday, so no excuses with navigation! Distance is from Briohny's Garmin as I forgot mine. Happy with my speed through the bush today.

Evening run in Deniliquin State Forest after driving down from Wagga. Must admit I kept me eyes down most of the way, just in case there were any joe-blakes about! Didn't see any and enjoyed the run.

Roadies at Wiradjuri, 2nd week. Wasn't too confident after yesterday's effort but felt OK at the start (maybe it was the Voltaren and Nurofen!). Started with Briohny and we ran together for the first 2 kms then she said "go past me" so I did and pushed on. Ran with Fitzy for a while but he dropped back (must have been taking it easy as he usually beats me) then pretty much on my own for the rest of the race. Time is just a bit faster than last week which is pleasing. A few "Lance Armstrong" type comments at the finish as apparently some of the guys think I am running too well! I guess that's a back handed compliment.

Afternoon run from home through Kooringal then down to the highway underpass on the bike track where I turned around and ran back via the cemetery and power line track. Felt really uncoordinated running today and it was hard work with arthritic aches and pains in my toes and ankles. Still glad I got out.

Token magpie swoop on Kooringal Rd near the cemetery: heard the babies squawking in a tree above me and looked up to see the adult bird heading straight down at me but warded him off pretty easily.

Mid week comp golf for the first time in more than 12 months. Never reached any great heights with only 29 points but putted quite well and I think I have finally worked our my swing problems as I started to hit the ball straight (even a slight draw on occasions) on the back nine. Handicap now out to 15:-(

Club event at Shockeroo Track. Good start on longish leg to 1 and OK most of the way to 2 but ran down the wrong spur (I know: its down gullies and up spurs!) and lost probably 3-4 minutes before deciding to relocate off the track. That's where Briohny caught me. Ran together to 3 but she ran away a bit on 4 by running the track when I went across country. Surprised to catch her again on the way to 7 and we were together to the finish. Nice out in the bush, running form good but disappointed again with my navigation.

October Roadies at Wiraduri Reserve. Run is an out and back mostly on single track along the river, including part of the Marathon and Half course. The 300+m sand running each way was tough going! Decided to continue the weeks theme of faster runs and pushed hard all the way. Came through OK and no hammy twinges today (maybe the compression shorts helped).

Early evening run in Canberra (here for a seminar). Ran from my hotel in Civic across the footbridge into Commonwealth Park and then across Commonwealth Bridge, along in front of Library, High Court etc and back across Kings Bridge, through the park ending up back at the footbridge and back to the hotel. Soooo many people around Lake BG compared to little Lake Albert at home! Nice run but may have overdone it a bit as right hammy is very tight (again).

Short, sharp afternoon run from home after a day and a half labouring in the garden(s) - ours and Briohny's! Went out the front and down to Lake Road, past a dead Roo - road kill in the centre of Wagga is unusual, poor thing must have come down off Willan's Hill. Ran down to the levee at Forsyth St then back home via the bike track, cemetery and powerlines track, with the mandatory walk up the hill to cool down:-) Nice run, pushed pretty hard all the way and felt good.
