Saturday Mar 31, 2012 #

8 AM

Running 30:00 [3] 5.5 km (5:27 / km)
shoes: Salomon Trail

Morning run in Rawlings Park with Deb and Darcy. A nice run although Darcy kept chasing off after a lady who was also running with her 2 dogs. Just being friendly as usual! He had a nice swim as well.

Thursday Mar 29, 2012 #

6 AM

Running 37:10 [3] 6.5 km (5:43 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 12

Morning run from home. A Kooringal loop so I could use the street lights. Struggled big time on the hills at the end!

Tuesday Mar 27, 2012 #

6 PM

Running 27:00 [3] 5.2 km (5:12 / km)
shoes: Salomon Trail

Afternoon run in Rawlings Park with Darcy, who we are still dog sitting whilst Briohny, Trent and Ryder get acquainted. Deb was also there walking and, a couple of times when Darcy picked up her scent, he took off to find her!

Sunday Mar 25, 2012 #

9 AM

Cycling 40:00 [3] 14.4 km (2:47 / km)

Cycle from home down to the river and along the levee bank. A fair amount of damage to the track and surrounds but not surprising considering how much water went through in the last few weeks. Headed through town along Bourke, Coleman and Railway Sts before the final "climb" (not quite Le Tour standards!) up Lake Rd and then up to home.

Saturday Mar 24, 2012 #

10 AM

Running 24:30 [3] 4.95 km (4:57 / km)
shoes: Salomon Trail

Run in Rawlings Park with Deb and Darcy (who is "holidaying" with us for a few days while his owners are otherwise occupied with his little brother). Wanted to tire him out so he would sleep during the day while we visited the family, so pushed harder than normal runs with him. Achieved the goal and enjoyed a slightly harder run.

Friday Mar 23, 2012 #

Note

Had planned a ride this arvo but other priorities came into play....an eventful day to say the least!

Wednesday Mar 21, 2012 #

5 PM

Running 51:20 [3] 10.0 km (5:08 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 12

Afternoon run from the Boat Club north around the Lake and then south to Apex Park and out into Rawlings Park. Turned around at the 5km mark and back the same way. Nice steady run but the wind picked up significantly in the 2nd part.

Council have have made great progress on repairing the storm damage to the running/cycle path near the Boat Club and have opened a temporary path whilst they repair the culvert and track proper.

Monday Mar 19, 2012 #

6 AM

Running 35:00 [3] 5.7 km (6:08 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 12

Morning run around Tatton streets with Briohny and Deb. Briohny continues to amaze and keeps running with only 5 weeks to go until the bub is due!

Sunday Mar 18, 2012 #

Short afternoon run in Albury out along the Murray River Trail from the motel and back .

Wednesday Mar 14, 2012 #

6 AM

Running 30:20 [3] 5.0 km (6:04 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 12

Morning run with Deb and Briohny at Lake Albert. Needed the headlamps this morning as it is very dark at 6:00am! Also very humid today. Nice steady run and chat.
5 PM

Orienteering race 44:25 [3] 7.0 km (6:21 / km) +100m 5:55 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Down in Albury for a couple of days for work so ran the AWOC street event. First time in a while that I have had to training sessions in one day!

Tuesday Mar 13, 2012 #

6 AM

Running 1:07:45 [3] 11.75 km (5:46 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 12

Morning run from home down Lake Rd, onto Plumpton Rd then past the Golf Club and along Nelson Drive to the Boat Club. North along the Lake and home via Kooringal Rd. Felt OK early but hit a flat spot at around the 6-8km mark when I was really struggling. Picked up again over the last few kms.

Sunday Mar 11, 2012 #

10 AM

Running 50:10 [3] 8.5 km (5:54 / km) +150m 5:25 / km
shoes: Salomon Trail

Mid - morning run with Deb at Pomingalarna. I did the outside loop apart from the NE section. Deb did a shorter inside loop. Lots of climb and lots of downhill. Enjoyed running somewhere different for a change and conditions just about perfect.

Pommy is looking good now that all motor vehicles are locked out and council and user groups are undertaking regeneration works. The MTB club is very active out here but they have well defined and maintained trails and police them pretty well.

Saturday Mar 10, 2012 #

Note

Comp golf: 38 stableford points. Played reasonably well but left a few out there. Driving was only average so scrambled well and putted well too for a change.

Friday Mar 9, 2012 #

5 PM

Running 41:30 [3] 7.6 km (5:28 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 12

Afternoon run from home on Rocky Hill and out along Kooringal Rd and back via the Cemetery. Felt pretty good for most of the run but the last km or so was feeling decidely unwell. In the end I realised it was probably just hunger! Note to self: eat something more substantial than a row of chocolate bar before next run!

Thursday Mar 8, 2012 #

6 AM

Running 30:45 [3] 5.0 km (6:09 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 12

Nice morning run with Briohny and Deb at Lake Albert. Due to the track damage from the weekend, started at the Boat Club and ran north along the western side for 2.5km then turned around and went back. Might not be too many more of these runs with Briohny for a while as I think she might be nearly ready to stop running until after the bub is born.

Wednesday Mar 7, 2012 #

5 PM

Cycling 43:20 [3] 15.8 km (2:45 / km)

Afternoon cycle out to Rawlings Park then down to the Lake, around the east and north side to Lansdowne Ave and home via Plumpton and Kooringal Rds. Fair amount of water still in Rawlings though paths were dry, if somewhat chopped up. First cycle in quite a while and felt it in the hammies especially when pushing into the head wind.

4 PM

Running 40:20 [3] 7.5 km (5:23 / km)
shoes: Salomon Trail

Deb and I waited out the rain (we've had 230mm since Tuesday with 110mm since yesterday morning) and had planned a lap of the Lake for Deb and a part lap and then home for me. We drove to the Boat Club car park and noticed the water level was quite a bit higher than Friday, well into the golf course. We got about 100m from the car and then saw that the running track now had a 5m wide and 2m deep gulf with a raging torrent of water across it where Stringy Bark Ck used to go under in a culvert!

Back to the car to grab the phone to take a few photos and be joined by a TV helicopter filming the carnage. We drove around to Apex Park and I then ran home via the northern and western sides of the Lake (the track was underwater in a number places), Lansdown Ave, Plumpton and Kooringal Rds. Deb did and out and back run from Apex Park.

Very humid after all the rain but good to get some exercise.

Friday Mar 2, 2012 #

6 AM

Running 30:50 [3] 5.0 km (6:10 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 12

Morning lap of the lake with Briohny and Deb. No rain this morning but the lake water level in way up again, exposing the uneven levels of the path which is now under the water in several sections. Nice steady run with Briohny setting the pace (of course!)

Orienteering race (Street O) 41:25 [4] 6.8 km (6:05 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 12

Final Summer Series event in Tolland. First exercise for a few days after 2 days in Sydney for work. Probably 15 degrees cooler than last week with some misty rain in the second half, but avoided the really wet weather. Lots of hills in the first half, with a few not so good route choices but still felt pretty comfortable all the way.
