8 AM

Note

12 holes of golf with Cam. Started reasonably early but it soon heated up. Almost worth logging as exercise with the amount of sweat-loss! Played OK with 3 consecutive pars at one stage but putting yipps back again! Cam played well too apart from a couple of holes! He regularly out-drives me with his 3 wood to my driver.

Running 1:04:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:20 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Morning run at Lake Canobolas (in Orange visiting my mum) with Briohny. Did one lap of the Lake but it was just too wet underfoot after 100mm rain since Christmas night so we headed out onto the road and ran up to a small park near the Mt Canobolas turnoff and then back. Steady climb most of the way up and then downhill on the way back. 2 cars and 2 cyclists is all we saw. Quite cold but we were in Orange:-)

Cycling 45:25 [4] 16.3 km (2:47 / km)

Boxing Day afternoon cycle. Cricket too depressing to watch so headed out for a ride. Chose a few hills and copped a head wind on the 2nd and longest one!

Note

Golf: first Wednesday event since July! A real up and down day with lots of pars (7), one birdie, several bogies and doubles and three wipes for a poor total of 32 stableford points. I was happy with my putting for a change but the rest of my game was too inconsistent. 3rd consecutive round where I've been at least 6 over my handicap but I'm still on 14.3. Can't have too many more poor rounds before that starts to rise.

Tuesday Dec 21, 2010 #

5 PM

Cycling 45:40 [4] 17.7 km (2:35 / km)

Afternoon cycle through Springvale and the southern end of Lake Albert and back through Rawlings Park.

Sunday Dec 19, 2010 #

8 AM

Running 1:09:00 [3] 12.05 km (5:44 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Morning run out past the Lake, through Rawlings Park to Mitchell Rd and then back along Silverwood and around the northern end of the Lake. Felt very dead-legged today and it was a real struggle to get any pace, especially on the hills but glad I stuck it out.

Saturday Dec 18, 2010 #

11 AM

Running 25:57 [3] 5.25 km (4:57 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Late morning lap of the Lake with Briohny. Not feeling brilliant after Deb and Briohny's work Christmas Party last night:) but managed a goodish pace. Deb took Darcy for a slower run and when we finished, we had him fetching sticks from in the Lake. He hasn't quite mastered the swimming thing yet and disappeared below the water on one occasion, coming up coughing but he still had the stick!

Tuesday Dec 14, 2010 #

5 PM

Cycling 38:00 [4] 14.0 km (2:43 / km)

Afternoon cycle, mostly on the roads due to the poor state of the cycling tracks.

Sunday Dec 12, 2010 #

10 AM

Running 40:15 [3] 8.0 km (5:02 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Latish morning run out to Apex Park and return. Nice and steady.

Thursday Dec 9, 2010 #

4 PM

Cycling 35:00 [3] 10.8 km (3:14 / km)

Rode in to Deb's work to collect the car after I got back to town. She had gone to Albury and was being dropped off at home at about 7:00pm. A couple of detours due to storm damage and flooding.
6 PM

Running race 43:25 [4] 7.5 km (5:47 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Street Orienteering in Kooringal. Good event from first-time setter Catherine Holland. I decided to opt for the hillier parts of the map today. Running was ok but some poor route choices (and some map updating on the run!) cost me some time.

Tuesday Dec 7, 2010 #

6 AM

Running 32:40 [3] 6.3 km (5:11 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11

Morning run before heading out of town for a few days. Struggle street this morning but picked up after the first km or so.

Sunday Dec 5, 2010 #

10 AM

Running 41:45 [3] 8.1 km (5:09 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Mid morning run from home into town to meet Deb at the Tourist Info centre have a look at the rising floodwaters. Humid but not too hot with a nice head breeze. Lots of people out looking but the water still has a long way to go. Supposed to peak tomorrow when it may well go over the North Wagga levee bank. North Wagga has been evacuated today. Council have also blocked the Sturt Hwy at East Wagga so they can plug the only gap in the town levee.

Note

Golf, monthly medal. Not a bad day until the last few holes when the wheels fell off. Played to handicap on front 9 but was 5 over on the back for a net 77. 5 x 3 putt greens did not help. Just couldn't get used to the slower greens and was leaving just about everything short. Hit some nice drives and irons were generally OK. Have put my name down again for next week!

Friday Dec 3, 2010 #

5 PM

Cycling 40:00 [3] 14.1 km (2:50 / km)

Afternoon cycle, mainly on the roads today in Springvale, Lakehaven and Lake Albert. Stayed out of the parks as the tracks will still be wet and probably washed out again after yesterday's deluge. Last part was around the Lake and for the first time, I had to ride through the water as it was over the path in about 5 different places. The very last bit near the golf club was quite deep and the track was washed away so was pretty rocky!

Thursday Dec 2, 2010 #

6 PM

Running 23:54 [3] 4.35 km (5:30 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11

Short run from Briohny's house to home after the Street O was washed out! Big storm dumped at least 40mm in about 30 minutes and we weren't sure what was to follow (another 30 mm an hour or so later!) so called the event off. Got a little wet running home between the storms.

Expecting the river to be right backup again tomorrow and golf on Saturday is looking doubtful if we get any more rain as they may close the course
