Orienteering race 28:45 [3] * 3.5 km (8:13 / km)
spiked:30/31c shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Summer Series score event on the CSU sprint map. First time I have competed on this map and it was a lot of fun. Even though I mapped it, I still managed to make a pretty basic error on one control! Managed 31 out of 34 controls with just that one error.

Running 28:10 [3] 5.5 km (5:07 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Lap of the Lake at 4:00pm and hot! Ran quite fast early, trying to make sure Briohny didn't pass me (she started a few minutes behind) but couldn't hold her off and I slowed a bit after that. Still a good run and my fastest in a long while.

Running 1:06:20 [3] 12.0 km (5:32 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Morning run out Plumpton Rd and return. Longest (in time) run so far since back running and this week no stops or walking. Slightly longer time than last weekend for same distance but a fair bit warmer today.

Nimbus's nearing the end of life I think, hit 400km today.

Cycling 44:30 [3] 15.5 km (2:52 / km)

Afternoon ride out Plumpton Rd then along Rowan and Mangoplah Rds back to Springdale and then home. Nice conditions though a bit of a head wind coming home. Haven't been on the bike for a few weeks and it took a bit of getting used to again.

Running 41:00 [3] 7.8 km (5:15 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Run after work. Starting to warm up again but not too bad today. Boat Club and then around the Lake to and through OHallarans Park then home via Kooringal and Plumpton Rds. Plenty of people out. Lake starting to look good again, especially after the big storm on Monday evening.

Changed to a slightly larger knee elastic support today and felt much better. I think the other is a bit tight and constricting.

Running 41:30 [3] 8.0 km (5:11 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Backed up after yesterday as I won't have a chance to run until Wednesday night - in Sydney tomorrow arvo and all Tuesday at meetings.

Did the usual Boat Club, Apex Park and return. Felt OK but very humid with the sun out after all the rain. Lake is looking (and smelling) better after the rain. Hopefully algae is gone.

Running 1:03:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:15 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Started out with Deb for a nice afternoon run from Boat Club around the Lake. Deb did a short loop back to the car. I changed shoes (good to have a support team!) and then ran out to Apex Park and back home. Managed to miss the rain but was great nunning conditions, about 19 degrees and a nice breeze.

Ran the first 5.5 km in my Asics Trabucca's but hadn't done much running in these (none!) and found them a bit heavy so rang (had my mobile with me, as you do!) the support team (Cameron) and he met me at the Boat Club and I changed to my Gel Nimbus for the last 7.5 km.

Running (Intervals) 35:17 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Afternoon session at Willan's Hill with Briohny. First time we have trained together since June last year, thanks to my injury woes! Wasn't at all sure about attempting intervals on such a hot day on in a hilly area but was OK.

10 minute warm up followed by a 2 x 1.3km loops, 2nd in reverse direction with 2 min rest: 6:51(max HR 157 92%, ave 147 86%), 6:54 (max HR 158 93%, ave 151 89%), 10 minute warm down. Reasonably happy, knee good, fitness poor - Briohny managed 4 loops in just a few minutes total longer! Oh well, at least I'm running again :-)

Running 44:50 [3] 7.5 km (5:59 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Hot afternoon run - was too lazy to get up early this morning - via the Boat Club round to Apex Park BBQs and back. 3 drinks stops at convenient taps and a bit of walking! Knee felt really good both during and after run, but fitness still a long way go, even though it was very hot.

Orienteering 9:00:00 [1]
shoes: Silva K80

A longer day than yesterday thanks to track wash outs after the rain (hotter also I'm sure). Forced to cover a huge area on foot that I hoped to do mostly by car as the tracks were just impassable, even in my 4WD. Part of the main access road to the JWOC Relays and Ozzies assembly area last year now has a metre deep and wide gully down the middle - must have had some really heavy rain!

Overcame the grass seed issue by switching to my O shoes but not the most comfortably - 9 hours of metal studs on rocks makes for sore feet!

Orienteering 7:00:00 [1]
shoes: Asics Gel Trabuca trail

7 hours tagging control sites at Dubbo for Easter day 2. OK early but pretty hot by 3:00pm when I gladly took a break to meet up with Paul (Controller). Good navigation and weight loss training! The change up here from a month ago is amazing, after all the rain. Grass up to a metre high and seeds in shoes and socks drove me crazy!

Running 27:30 [2] 5.0 km (5:30 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Dragged myself out early this morning as it was going to be 37 today. Down to the Boat Club then past the golf course and back hone via Lansdowne. Only short but feel I am gradually picking up the pace (and fitness).

Dubbo tomorrow afternoon to tag control sites on Fri/Sat. Will be plenty hot I think!

Running 37:06 [2] 6.5 km (5:42 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Morning (but not early) run from home out past the Boat Club and part of the Lake then back again. Felt good even after backing up from yesterday afternoon.

Running 31:09 [2] 5.5 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Afternoon run after returning from Sydney. A lap of the Lake starting at the Boat Club in pretty warm temps. Briohny and Deb also there. Bri raced past me and quickly disappeared into the distance. Happy to get all the way round without any real issues. Knee felt good but I'm severely lacking in the fitness stakes (especially after 3 days in Sydney at the cricket and playing golf and all that comes with that!)

Cycling 44:00 [2] 12.5 km (3:31 / km)

Out past the Lake and Rawlings Park to Mitchell Rd, then Silverwood Rd and back through Rawlings and home.

Last exercise for a few days as heading to Sydney for the 2nd Test v India next 2 days and then golf on Friday. Nice ride, not as warm today even though a bit later start than hoped.
