Cycling 1:00:30 [3] 18.0 km (3:22 / km)

Morning ride out to Plumpton Hill and then across to Mangoplah Rd, turned round and came back same way. Nice ride (new seat on the bike helped!) except for the corrugations in the dirt road, and even got rained on on the way home.

Cycling 47:40 [3] 15.5 km (3:05 / km)

Fairly leisurely afternoon ride out along Plumpton, Boiling Down (often wondered where that name came from?) and Redbank Rds, back via the Lake circuit track to the Boat Club and then home. Really nice afternoon for a ride and even had a few spots of rain!

Cycling 28:10 [3] 10.5 km (2:41 / km)

Ride down to Road Runners at Wiradjuri. Hot westerly made the last couple of kms hard work. Temp hit 33 here today and supposed to be the same tomorrow. Early Summer!

Cycling 30:15 [3] 10.5 km (2:53 / km)

After a 30 minute break watching everyone at Roadies, I headed back home. Strange how I seemed to have a head wind again, even though I was going the opposite direction! A bit slower going home as it is predominantly uphill.

Cycling 42:00 [3] 14.5 km (2:54 / km)

Afternoon ride out around Lake Albert and Rawlings Park to Mitchell Rd, along Mitchell to Brunskill and back to Rawlings Park. Back through Rawlings (no swooping Maggie!) and then back home the way I came. Very enjoyable, little wind and nice temp. Warmer weather on the way this weekend!

Countdown: 3 weeks to go!

Cycling 20:00 [2]

Short session on the exercise bike. In recovery mode after the 100th birthday party last night! Great night: thanks Briohny and Cameron!

Cycling 30:00 [3] 10.5 km (2:51 / km)

Cycle down to Road Runners at Wiradjuri Reserve on the river. Started with a tail wind but when I swung round to the west for the last few kms, turned into a cross-head wind which was hard going. Needed the exercise as haven't done much all week.

Now only 4 weeks to wait for the knee scrape!

Orienteering race 1:10:00 [2] **** 5.3 km (13:12 / km)
spiked:14/15c shoes: Silva K80

Oceania Long Champs: new map at Brayshaws Hut. Walked and jogged my course. No major issues until #13 when I went through the wrong saddle. Took me a minute or two to work it out and then relocated. Quite a good area, a mix of granite and open areas but lots of timber and debris on the ground made for slow going (or would if you were running!). Course was only OK but no long legs and no real option for route choice which was disappointing because the area had some good options.

Orienteering 24:50 [3] 2.0 km (12:25 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Walked around Oceania Sprint course. Nice technical course in a really good area. Lots of walkways, garden beds, stairs and passages, and lots of crossovers on the course. No major errors except when Briohny (who walked around with me) led me in the wrong direction on #6!

Cycling 29:04 [3] 8.0 km (3:38 / km)

Quick (as in short, not fast!) cycle around Lake Albert after work. Pretty windy this arvo but still lots of people out walking themselves and their dogs and generally blocking the track! Bloody inconsiderate, what do they think they are doing? Exercising or something! Why aren't they at home sitting on the couch eating fried food.....

Orienteering 50:08 [3] **** 3.5 km (14:19 / km)
spiked:19/20c shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Oceania Middle Distance at Honeysuckle Creek (new map extension). I walked around the course and really enjoyed it - had to keep tellling myself not to run. Hit all but one control,so navigation was good, as it should be when only walking. Still managed to beat a few home (16th out of 23).

Might attempt the Oceania long next Saturday (walking again) depending on the terrain and weather. Will either have to wear my O shoes or put some bandages on, as I good blisters on both heels from my running shoes, which is odd as I have had them ages and not had a problem before.
