Running 53:15 [3] 9.2 km (5:47 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Afternoon Willans Hill run with Briohny. Seemed we both thought the other was setting the pace and ended up too fast for me! I fell back badly on the hills on second half of the run, with Bri beating me by almost 4 minutes, though she is giving a few years!. Needed the run however as I have sat around in meetings for the last 2 days!

Orienteering 1:04:25 [3] **** 8.0 km (8:03 / km)
spiked:15/19c shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Training session in the granite at Connorton with Briohny and Deb. Cameron also came out and did a track run. Briohny set 2 x 4km loops and, despite a some silly nav errors near a couple of the control sites, I was pretty happy to get around in 64 mins, only 3 min behind Bri. Weather much cooler today and very pleasant for running. Don't expect it to last however!

Running 1:11:15 [3] 13.0 km (5:29 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Morning run on Plumpton, Boiling Down and Red Bank rds. Had to run through a mob of cattle on Red Bank which added some interest! A bit quicker than last week for same route (might have been the cattle!). Achilles playing up a bit so iced when I got home.

Running 48:20 [3] 7.5 km (6:27 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Afternoon run from North Sydney Oval down through Cammeray to Tunks Park and then up to Flat Rock Road and return. Lots of hills and bush steps on climb up Flat Rock Gully tested the Achilles! Spectacular view of the underside of the suspension bridge at Northbridge! I thought the humidity was bad yesterday at the Sprint but it had nothing on today's!

Orienteering race 22:05 [3] * 2.6 km (8:30 / km)
spiked:7/11c shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Sydney Parks Sprint race at Macquarie University. Enjoyed the run, even if somewhat slow with some dodgy navigation, but not too bad after a 5 hour drive! Sydney humidity is hard to take!

Running 1:12:00 [3] 13.0 km (5:32 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Sunday morning long run: new run down Plumpton, Boiling Down, Red Bank rds then back around the Lake. Cool conditions, great for running. Back home just before the rain!!

Thursday Jan 18, 2007 #

Running 40:00 [3] 7.0 km (5:43 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Morning run around Lake Albert with Briohny. Really humid this morning. Absolutely drenched in perspiration at the finish! Lots of people out and about.

Golf 4:00:00 [2] 6.0 km (40:00 / km)
shoes: Proline

Wednesday comp. 33 points. Putting absolutely awful! Needs to spend some time on the practice greens.

Monday Jan 15, 2007 #

Running (Intervals) 15:00 [5]
shoes: Silva K80

3 x 500m along the boat club road, with a 500m recovery: 1:57, 2:04, 2:06.
Too hot for this sort of exercise, about 37 degrees! Made Bri work made but nearly expired in doing so.

Running 20:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2100s

Easy "warm up" (yeah it was 37C so really needed a warm up!) to and from the boat club road with Briohny.

Orienteering 53:30 [3] **** 6.3 km (8:30 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Morning training session on Connorton with Briohny and Deb. REALLY dry out on the map, they badly need some rain real soon! I set two 4km loops (no controls) in the technical parts of the map. Bri ran both. Deb ran one and I managed one and half the second. Very smokey from the Vic fires again.

Golf 4:00:00 [2] 6.0 km (40:00 / km)
shoes: Proline

Wednesday comp. Form holding up. 39 points but missed a few putts. Only missed 4 fairways from the tee so driving is consistently good.

Running 39:00 [3] 7.5 km (5:12 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Afternoon run. Still sore from weekend but lossened up nicely as run progressed. Very warm and getting hotter over next few days so might need to switch back to morning runs.

Sunday Jan 7, 2007 #

Orienteering 53:15 [3] *** 5.8 km (9:11 / km)
spiked:16/20c shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Day 5 of the 5 days. Pouring with rain as I went out so couldn't wear glasses. Struggled a bit to read the map as a result. Found it pretty physical with lots of short steep hills in the spur-gully. Navigation pretty straightforward but still managed a few errors (I blame the poor eyesight - I think it is called old age!).

Saturday Jan 6, 2007 #

Orienteering 58:35 [3] **** 6.0 km (9:46 / km)
spiked:12/14c shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Day 4 of the 5 Days but my first day. Came up from Sydney after the 5th Ashes Test. Sweated out a few of the (too) many beers and probably the chilli as well!

Ran really well considering the above, apart from a major (6 min) error at #5.

Thursday Jan 4, 2007 #

Golf 5:00:00 [1] 6.0 km (50:00 / km)
shoes: Proline

Golf at Moore Park in Sydney. No tickets for the 5th Test so we made the most of the time. Bit slack in terms of exercise as we hired carts!!

Tuesday Jan 2, 2007 #

Note

Fast walk around Lake Albert with Deb. 7.5km in 80 minutes.
