Long champs in same area as yesterday and once again, an excellent course. Lack of fitness meant I was slow on all the long legs and compounded that with a silly error at the end of 7-8 where Oing caught me (for the 2nd time, after he made an error after going through me on 6). Another error on 5 but generally nav was good. Mel just held me off for 3rd by 15 seconds.

Hip held up pretty well both days but was seriously alarmed by constant clicking feeling as I climbed on the long leg to 6. Expected to be very sore Monday but pleasantly surprised!

Thanks to Northern Tablelands and Bush n Beach clubs for 2 great days of orienteering.

Great new area near Armidale and excellent, technical course. A pretty clean run with small misses at 6, 8 and 9. Fitness was main issue due recent injury and consequent lack of training but very happy to take 2nd place behind Oing.

Enjoyable walk with Deb up to the Breadknife and around grand high tops in Warrumbungles. Started out warm and sunny but cooled down later. Storms to the north missed us. Forest is gradually getting back to normal post 2013 bushfires.

First crack at Wagga Parkrun. Cool morning, not an overly exciting course but a good run. Considerably slower than Bateman's Bay run but was conserving energy for golf later on the day:-0

Morning run along the rapidly dropping river, with Deb for first 1 km then I picked up my pace (slightly!) to see how the hip responded and it was pretty good. Nice brekkie afterwards.

Orienteering race (Interclub #1) 59:24 [4] *** 5.04 km (11:47 / km) +125m 10:29 / km

Interclub #1 with AWOC at Burrandana on a Wolfram map that is showing its age, with numerous track and fence changes as well as some significant vegetation changes whilst the rock in some areas needs re-mapping too. Ran the short hard as (1) Waggaroos had plenty of runners on the longer course, (2) I didn't think the extra climb on the long would do my hip any good and (3) it was hot as I started late after looking after Ryder whilst Deb and Briohny ran earlier!

A reasonable run apart from a major blow-out on #2 where I failed to see the track option and then lost my bearings going over the spur. This cost me about 8 minutes! Only other error was on the last where I got too high in the rock. Hip held up OK but have no speed so hoping NSW champs at Armidale in 2 weeks are very technical with little fast run!
