Running (Long with hills) 1:43:22 [3] 17.0 km (6:05 / km) +394m 5:27 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Kazan trail

Started in Silvalite with Deb and we ran together for about 2.5km then she turned around and ran back to the car. I continued on under the railway and then up and down the hills to Holbrook Rd, onto Tatton ridge, down Red Hill and home along Kooringal Rd and the powerline track. Pretty sore in various spots afterwards but good to get some hills in.

Planned morning run to the river that turned into a bit of an adventure: after the rain on Tuesday night (another 26mm taking us to a new September all time record and 470+ since the start of May), not only was the Sturt Hwy underpass flooded but the track beside Marshall's Creek just before the underpass was also cut, so had to detour up the levee bank. Once across the Sturt, came to a sign advising that the Levee and lower tracks are closed (until December!) so the Water works can construct a new pipeline! So couldn't get to the river, turned back and decided to add a loop around the eastern and southern sides of cemetery to make up some of the distance and proceeded to get swooped twice by 2 different magpies so will be leaving that section alone for a month or so!

Running (Long) 1:20:00 [3] 13.1 km (6:06 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 16 Blue

Morning run out around the Lake and return. Garmin battery died at 6.5km so distance and time both guestimates. Walked for about 300m mid way talking with a mate I hadn't seen for a while.

Running (Not so long...) 42:26 [3] 7.82 km (5:26 / km) +43m 5:17 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 17 green

Had planned a longer run this morning, south and around the Lake and into Rawlings. Misty rain leaving home but the further south I went, the heavier the rain got! Given I still haven't shaken off my cold, called it quits at the Lake Rd roundabout and headed back home via the cemetery and powerline track. Have lots of time now for mid-week long runs:-)

Running race (Road Runners) 33:31 [5] 6.93 km (4:50 / km) +4m 4:49 / km

Moorong Street run week 3. A short warm up and we were away and I was feeling pretty good (maybe the fact I finished work yesterday??) so decided to push a bit harder. Kept pace with Dr Paul and Fitzy for all but the last 500m or so for a time almost a minute faster the 2 weeks back.

Running 41:28 [3] 7.3 km (5:41 / km) +56m 5:28 / km

Morning run down to the river. Has gone back down about a metre but running path beside Marshall's Ck is still cut at Sturt Hwy. More rain today and more forecast.....

Orienteering race (State League 12) 1:29:03 [5] **** 7.73 km (11:31 / km) +170m 10:22 / km
spiked:10/14c shoes: Inov8 Trailroc 255

Long event at Belanglo on the Miners Despair map. Another very physical run with loads of green (planners comment was white was light green, light green was dark green!). managed to mess up the first 2, losing probably 10 minutes and then it was a slog. Generally OK with nav after 3 but slow going.

Orienteering race (State League 11) 1:10:36 [5] **** 6.72 km (10:30 / km) +139m 9:31 / km
spiked:20/24c shoes: Inov8 Trailroc 255

Middle distance on Boxvale Tramway map near Mittagong. Physically hard with lots of Sydney sandstone "green". Generally OK nav apart from #3 (90 degree error out of 2!) and #18 (awful route choice!). Those 2 probably cost me around 6 minutes combined. Felt the courses were way too long (at least a km) for terrain and vegetation, Garmin distance was 6.7 on a measured 4.8km course.

Running 48:00 [3] 8.38 km (5:44 / km) +104m 5:24 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 16 Blue

Run down to the river and it is up again after 35mm rain over the weekend. Peaked last night at 7.4m at the Wiradjuri bridge. Path under the bridge on Marshall's Creek was flooded so had to play with the semi trailers to get over the Sturt Hwy! Went past the railway viaduct onto the lower track but couldn't get far as it was cut by the river so turned around and went back the way I'd come except I decided to go up the hill at the back of the cemetery "just for fun" and that comprised most of the climb!

Running race (Road Runners) 34:21 [5] 6.91 km (4:58 / km) +4m 4:57 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Kazan trail

Roadies (supposedly) at Flowerdale Lagoon (correction thanks Briohny). After 30-40mm rain last night the lagoon water level was over the trail so that, combined with Council working on the levee bank, meant the organisers were left with a pretty dull road loop along Moorong St, with a side diversion into Geordie Russell's property. Coughed and spluttered my way along but happy enough with the time. Wore my trail shoes expecting the normal route so feet a bit sore with all the bitumen running.
