EMPO A meet, green course, long

Better run today but still with two significant errors, one really frustrating. Fortunately there were trail run options and some surprisingly easy controls so it was easy to have a faster per k time.

The first mistake was kind of a normal error going to 5, lost contact, had to relocate on the trail. Lost more time than usual because of the thick woods and rocky terrain. The second was the long leg to 7, was going cross country and figured I'd hit the downhill to the stream shortly before the control. After a long time on a bearing and generally watching the terrain, I hit a major trail with several nearby intersections. I couldn't fit it with any trail system in the area so got worried I was way off. Ran up and down the trail trying to relocate and stood there puzzling for a while. I actually considered dnf'ing because I figured I must be way off. Then I decided to keep heading east and just see if I hit the stream. I did very shortly and went up and was almost dead on to the control. Still not sure what was up with the trails.

Empo A meet, green course

Slow, rocky terrain and fairly dense though it was mostl mapped white. Very slow with almost no running till the end. But fairly accuarate until 13, which I completely blew. Pretty bummed because it was the easiest, shortest control, and so close to the finish.
