Running (Street & Trail) 33:38 [3] 4.01 mi (8:23 / mi) +49m 8:05 / mi
slept:7.0 weight:188.5lbs

From Chevy Chase Lake Dr. and Connecticut Ave., the Georgetown Branch Trail to Porter Rd. (Rosemary Hills ES), then back. It was a whopping 59 F starting out. I recall times when the temperature this time of year was usually closer to 100 F. Heavy rains had occurred earlier but it was starting to dry off. There were only a few muddy spots on the trail. I'd taken Peggy's advice to run this trail while I still could. It's slated to be closed soon. Once a railroad grade, it became a trail again in the 1990s. Now it's slated to become a light railway again. I ran okay, with a surprisingly steady pace except for where the way got steeper.

Bicycling (Commute) 37:12 intensity: (17:12 @3) + (20:00 @4) 12.1 mi (3:04 / mi) +167m 2:57 / mi
slept:6.5 weight:184.5lbs

From Northfield Rd., Bethesda, MD, then to 13th & C St. SW, Washington, DC. After a rushed morning in which I'd woke up late, I got going and felt good at first. The cool air had also had something to do with that. I was surprised I didn't feel it more in my legs from running longer the night before. I was partly motivated to ride since I hadn't ridden much the last month, and was low on cycling mileage. The last month was also intentionally more focused on running at the expense of cycling. I feel I need that with many long races this fall. I did feel some soreness setting in as I was passing others and probably pushing too hard. For one guy I'd caught, I traded pulls all the way until leaving Georgetown. I think I was still pushing a little harder than he was. The winds seems calm or mixed at worst.

Bicycling (Commute) 43:10 [3] 12.0 mi (3:36 / mi) +128m 3:29 / mi

From 13th & C St. SW, Washington, D.C. to Northfield Rd., Bethesda, MD. I started my ride from Court 2 of my office for the first time. It was just a tiny bit further. I rode okay but felt I was going slower than I ended up. I wasn't feeling that strong; a little sore from the run the night before.

Running (Street & Trail) 59:30 [3] 7.16 mi (8:19 / mi) +85m 8:01 / mi
slept:5.0 weight:187lbs

From Battery Ln. Wisconsin Ave./Rockville Pike to Cedar Ln., to the Elmhirst Trail., to the Rock Creek Trail, to Kensington Pkwy. to Connecticut Ave., to the Georgetown Branch Trail, to Bethesda Avenue to Exeter Rd. to Battery Ln to Park Ln. to Custer Rd., to Northfield Rd. It was nice to get out for a longer run, and to finally take advantage of the nice weather. It was still a little humid but in the 70s F. I felt fairly good, probably from being rested, and didn't push the pace much.

Bicycling (Commute) 5:48 [3] 1.41 mi (4:07 / mi) +12m 4:00 / mi

Bicycling (Commute) 10:45 [3] 2.82 mi (3:49 / mi) +25m 3:43 / mi

From the Bethesda Metro Station to Northfield Rd., then back. After getting all they way to the doorstep of my office building, I'd discovered that I'd forgotten my work ID. Rather than process through alternative entrance and workstation login, it was going to be easier to go back home, and then back to work.
