Running (Trail) 31:12 [2] 2.95 mi (10:35 / mi)
slept:7.5

Rehoboth, DE. From the trailhead at seaside Outlet Dr., Peggy and I went along the main trail but turned off on several dirt side trails through the pine forest. These woods were often nice but didn't have a lot of features. They were probably sand that got forested over. Unlike Scotland, there wasn't much detail though there were some reentrants and an occasional small depressions. Visibility was good but randomly spaced holly trees kept it from being too good. In one area there was the old wreck of some kind of tractor implement, disturbed ground, and cyclist trails meandering through it.

From Northfield Rd. to the Bethesda Metro Station on my heavier commuter bike. It was nice and cool today. It felt a shame that I wasn't riding the whole way to work today.

Rehoboth Beach, DE. From Coastal Hwy., to John J. Williams Hwy. to Bryn Mawr Dr., to Radcliffe Dr., to Vassar Dr., to Colgate Dr. to Bryn Mawr Dr., to Radcliffe Dr., to Vassar Dr., to Colgate Dr. to John J. Williams Hwy. to Coastal Hwy. it was not humid, and in the 60s F when I went out. I was feeling the running in my stomach initially. I enjoyed the flat suburban terrain. It reminded me of when I used to zoom around at night on summers home in my college years. The night sky here is better than at home, but still with some light pollution. I was able to see Scorpio, Cassiopeia, and the Big Dipper.

Bicycling (Commute) 6:00 [3] 1.41 mi (4:15 / mi)
slept:6.75 weight:171.5lbs

From Northfield Rd. to the Bethesda Metro Station. I still hadn't fixed the flat tire on my road bike, so I pumped-up the tires and pulled-out my older and heavier commuter bike. The day was getting hot quickly.

From Northfield Rd., Custer to the Huntington Pkwy. to Old Georgetown Rd., to Oakmont Ave., to Hempsteadt Ave. to McKinley St., to Garfield St., to Roosevelt St., to Jefferson St., to Northfield Rd. Running (Street & Trail) 49:07 intensity: (47:07 @3) + (2:00 @4) 6.07 mi (8:05 / mi) +64m 7:50 / mi
slept:6.0 weight:173lbs

From the Silver Spring Metro Station, Colesville Rd., to N. Portal Dr. to E. Beach Dr. to Kalmia Rd., to Beach Dr., to the Valley Trail in Rock Creek Park, to Beech Dr., to the paved Rock Creek Trail, to Ellingson Dr. to the Georgetown Branch Trail via Susannah Ln. to Woodmont Ave. in Bethesda, to Edgemoor Ln. I would have liked to have felt like I had more energy during this run. I didn't move badly, but I had that feeling I've been having, of rubbery legs. I couldn't get much lift. It was 86 F with a breeze going when I was done and I was out of the sun for most of the way. There were some muddy spots on the dirt trail. I wanted to bike to the metro station in the morning but I hadn't fixed the flat tire from yesterday.

Calisthenics (General) 2:00 [3]
slept:3.0 weight:173lbs (rest day)

45 situps. I worked a bit late and didn't have much energy for a run later. I tried to bicycle to the metro station in the morning but I discovered a slow leak in my rear tire and had to walk back my bicycle after only getting a block away.

Orienteering 1:06:38 intensity: (16:00 @1) + (50:38 @3) *** 4.5 mi (14:48 / mi) +156m 13:22 / mi
spiked:17/18c slept:5.0 weight:173.5lbs

Seneca Creek State Park, Lake Clopper Area. Starting from the Quail Ridge parking lot, I went about picking up the controls. I was nice and int he low 70s F, but a little humid. I was sleepy when I'd left my house and didn't realize that I'd left the map at home until I was at the park. It didn't matter. I was able to remember the locations of all of the controls and run to them. I didn't try to run exactly on the line that I'd set for people earlier. To save time, I ran to the controls in most cases. I only missed spiking one in which I'd attacked off of a long sort of straight road. I'd passed the reentrant where I'd misplaced one control by 10-20m the day before, and was able to figure this out. I felt stronger running today and weighed-in the lightest that I had so far this year. After running, I weighed myself again and I was 171.5. Some dehydration probably factored into this.

After this Peggy and I took Max to camp where he'll enjoy the good life for a week. Peggy and I did some outlet shopping that Max doesn't like to do.
