Running (Street & Trail) 39:49 [3] 5.21 mi (7:39 / mi)
slept:8.0 weight:179.5lbs

From Northfield Rd., to Old Georgetown Rd. via Greenwich Park, to the Bethesda Trolley Trail, to Woodglen Dr., to Nicholson Ln., to Executive Blvd./Jefferson St. I'm not sure why I hadn't done this before. After Peggy ran in the morning, I ran over the Panera Bread where Peggy and Max drove to meet a group of the MCRRC. They meet there just about every Saturday so I can look forward to adding some mileage to my already weak mileage weeks as long as my legs hold-up. We'd biked to Panera Breaq with Max on Saturday mornings before but ever since Max had gotten too big for a babyjogger, I haven't been doing Saturday morning runs. I started this one slowish, but was 7:35 at the first mile. A toilet break near the end would have been nice. It was around 50F when I started but was warming fast as the sun cleared off the rains.

Bicycling (Commute) 7:45 [3] 1.52 mi (5:06 / mi)
weight:180lbs

From Northfield Rd. to the Bethesda Metro Station with Max on his trail-a-bike. I tried to stuff the trail-a-bike into my locker at the station, planning to also put my bicycle in it. However, the trail-a-bike wouldn't fit at all. I locked it up on a rack.

Bicycling (Commute) 6:32 [3] 1.42 mi (4:36 / mi)

From the Bethesda Metro Station to Northfield Rd. with the trail-a-bike.

Bicycling (Commute) 42:09 intensity: (10:00 @3) + (32:09 @4) 12.41 mi (3:24 / mi)
slept:5.75 weight:181lbs

From Northfield Rd., Bethesda, MD, to Arlington Ave. with Max on his trail-a-bike, then to 12th & C St. SW, Washington, D.C. I wasn't feeling that energetic but made good time going downhill. Slowing on the flats, one of the guys I passed pulled me the rest of the way into Georgetown. Feeling a little rested, I left him again going along the water. The winds were calm again; unusual. It was very comfortable in the low 60s F.

Bicycling (Commute) 49:21 [3] 12.02 mi (4:06 / mi)

From 12th & C St. SW, Washington, D.C. to Arlington Rd., then to Northfield Rd., Bethesda, MD. I had anticipate a tailwind during my lunchtime walk but the winds must have shifted. It was from the NW which meant headwinds all the way home. I almost forgot to pickup Max's trail-a-bike and went to pick it up from Glenwood Rd. I felt pretty slow at times but I only got passed by one person. I kept focusing on cadence. It's amazing how much slower I am on my commuter bike but part of it must be a cummulative effect of being more tired from recent workouts, however weak they've been.

Running (Street & Trail) 16:03 intensity: (6:03 @2) + (8:00 @3) + (2:00 @4) 1.91 mi (8:24 / mi)
weight:180lbs

From Northfield Rd., Max rode and I ran to Bradley Hills ES. After playing some tag at the playground and waiting when he just rode circles, we took to the streets surrounding the school and went home. I had to run fairly quickly when Max was going downhill but I got to slow down when going uphill. Sometimes I had to hold Max's handlebars and pull him up. With it being warm out, I felt I got enough of a workout. My legs were feeling tired from the start.

Bicycling (Commute) 46:46 intensity: (11:30 @2) + (5:16 @3) + (30:00 @4) 12.43 mi (3:46 / mi)
slept:5.75 weight:179.5lbs

From Northfield Rd., Bethesda, MD, to Arlington Ave., to 12th & C St. SW, Washington, D.C. It's Spring Break for Max. While Peggy and I still need to work, for Max it's Wheel Day at his before/after care. He got his choice of bringing a remote control car, skateboard, scooter, or bicycle--he chose his bicycle. Since it's going to be a nice day, I wanted to ride too. Deciding to do that my only basic choice to get Max to school with his bicycle was was to let him ride it. We went slowly and walked across the busier intersections. He did pretty well though I rode holding onto his handlebars when going uphill to keep him steady and give him a hand. Though he was not exactly in full control all of the time, Max crashed only once, brushing a curb at low speed and sort of staying on his feet onto the grass as his bicycle went down. He gets distracted too easily, looses focus, and looses balance. While riding he was trying to tell me a rememberance that he thought was funny. I'd have liked to laugh along with him but was torn between trying to keep him from falling and letting him experience the joy of the freedom of riding. He must have been enjoying it because he took a moment to verbalize that this was his first day riding to school (on his own bike).

After getting Max to school I took off. I finally fixed-up my commuter bike so I was on it. I was surprised that I was moving pretty well. At one point I thought I might have had a tailwind but the winds were actually calm. I kept a good cadence going the whole way. My time was pretty quick considering that I rode 1.1 miles with Max for over 11:30 minutes.
6 PM

Bicycling (Commute) 43:05 intensity: (10:00 @3) + (33:05 @4) 11.89 mi (3:37 / mi)

From 12th & C St. SW, Washington, D.C. to Northfield Rd., Bethesda, MD. I had a tailwind for a while and did some good spinning. After a detour at the flooding waterfront and the the traffic in Georgetown, I kept moving quickly. However I just as quickly got passed by 2 people. I didn't want to work too hard but I did keep up a good effort. Like earlier this month, I started running out of energy just before River Rd. The effect of the tailwind seemed to diminish long before at about Canal Rd. As I cruised into home trying to keep my average pace up, I saw Peggy and Max walking back from the park.

Event: QOC McKeldin

2 PM

Swimming (Other) 45:00 [1]
slept:7.5

Max wasn't into going to the QOC meet at McKeldin today and I was not feeling that energetic either. I used the time in the morning to work on house projects and despite the better weather, Max wanted to go swimming. He's getting better and can sort of kick and backfloat across the pool now. We hit our share of slides but Max also ventered into the deepest waters of the kid section without absolutely needing me.
5 PM

Running (Street & Trail) 15:25 [4] 2.24 mi (6:53 / mi)

From Northfield Rd., to Old Georgetown Rd. via Greenwich Park, to W. Cedar Ln. to the Elmhirst Pkwy. Trail, to Cedar Ln. W. to the Rock Creek Trail at Beach Dr. After Peggy returned from her trip, I took a run down to Rock Creek where she took Max down play. With this beingt a short run, I pushed a bit. The weather was great but it was also primarily downhill.
