Running (Trail) 42:28 [3] 5.58 mi (7:37 / mi)

Perimeter Trail in Greenbelt Park. Temperatures were in the teens on this sunny morning. I felt tired from running late last night and from the increase in mileage this week. Most everyone else in PGRC ran the road.

Running (Street & Trail) 33:12 [3] 4.66 mi (7:07 / mi)

Running (Street & Trail) 12:52 [3] 1.95 mi (6:36 / mi)

From Qill Point Dr., roads around Northridge. It was 16 degrees out with winds 22-29mph. Nice day to rest.

Running (Street & Trail) 1:11:41 [2] 7.3 mi (9:49 / mi)

From the Vienna, VA metro station to the W&OD Trail via Nottaway Park & Courthouse Rd., to Mile Mark 13, then back. I met my old college roomate who was in town. We ran after work at night with it already around 20 degrees or in the teens with a steady wind. Ralph was not in as good a shape and after his accident 7-8 years ago it is a success that he runs at all. He slowed down at all the snowy/icy patches too. We stayed relatively warm.

Running (Street & Trail) 43:52 [3] 6.0 mi (7:19 / mi)

At UMD, from Cole Field House, Northwest Branch Trail to the Sligo Creek Trail & back. It was dark and icy on the trail. I had negative splits even though the return was uphill. Unfortunately, I was still moving pretty slow. I'd done this from the track before (a little shorter distance by about 2:30min) in under 37 minutes albeit w/o the ice, dark, heavy sweats and cold wind.

Running (Trail) 34:42 [3] 4.63 mi (7:30 / mi)

From Quill Point Drive, trails in Tanglewood Park. I mostly did two loops along the perimeter but also had some out and back exploration. The loop uninterrupted took 9:51. I was feeling tired from the GNC. It was cold and windy but relatively nice in the woods.

Running (Warm-up) 8:00 [2] 1.0 km (8:00 / km)

Warm-up for Day 2 of the Georgia Navigator's Cup.

Orienteering (Competition) 56:51 [4] 6.15 km (9:15 / km)
spiked:8/11c

Day 2 of the Georgia Navigator's Cup A-Meet at Sweetwater State Park on the New Manchester map. I was very tired; feeling out-of-shape. I ran fairly well but couldn't catch Ed Buckley or David Frei. I got 2nd in M40+ and 3rd on the Red course, just like Day 1 but a little further behind. It was warmer and less hilly.

Hiking (Day-Hike) 15:00 [1] 0.6 km (25:00 / km)

Peggy and I had some time to spend before our flight back to Baltimore so we drove to Stone Mountain on the east side of Atlanta. Peggy's toe was throbbing from the GNC so we only took the skytram to the top and walked around late in the day. It was pretty with nice views but a bit too commercial.
