slept:7.0 weight:177.5lbs (injured)

Bethesda, MD. I had a few errands to do around town including picking up Max's trailer that I left at his school yesterday.

Bicycling (Commute) 41:35 [4] 12.04 mi (3:27 / mi)
slept:4.5 weight:178lbs (injured)

From Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD to 12th & C St. SW, Washington, D.C. Another nice morning. I was a bit stiff starting but steadily increased. After passing a bunch of people, someone caught me as we started the flats. After a spell, I took over and somehow dropped him. I was slower after Georgetown and encountered some mixed winds.

Bicycling (Commute) 42:22 [3] 11.92 mi (3:33 / mi)
(injured)

From C St. SW, Washington, D.C. to Candy Cane Park in Rock Creek, MD. Since people were coming to see our house (to potentially buy it) at about the time that I usually come home from work, I met Peggy and Max at a playground. The ride through Rock Creek Park was nicest once I got onto the roads after Blagden Rd. and I made good speeds getting some push and pull from the vacuum the commuting cars make. Afterward we had a nice dinner in Silver Spring where it was rather more crowded than it has been.

Bicycling (Commute) 42:28 intensity: (39:08 @3) + (3:20 @4) 12.03 mi (3:32 / mi)
slept:6.0 weight:177.5lbs (injured)

From Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD to 12th & C St. SW, Washington, D.C. It was just a great morning to ride. I felt a little weaker. I dropped off Max and moved along okay. At Falls Rd., another commuter taller than me passed. He moved out for a while at up to 25mph while I struggled to get behind him. After getting into his wake, I sat until we reached Fletcher's Boathouse. I pulled on the flats until he turned off at Georgetown. It felt like headwinds the rest of the way. I was slow but since the weeping willows were hardly budging, I think it was just me being slow.

Bicycling (Commute) 43:59 [3] 11.86 mi (3:43 / mi)
(injured)

From C St. SW, Washington, D.C. to Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD. I was fortunate to often have a tailwind most of the way home. Along the water to Georgetown, the tailwind helped me pace with a motor boat. That was kind of remincent with my high school runs when we used to pace with barges pushing up and down the river. I rode alone and took it easier on the flats averaging around 18mph and then about 16mph on the grade to Bethesda. I was at 38:48 at Max's day care school when picking up his trailer. I expected to be slower.

Orienteering (Field Checking) 6:30:00 [1] 8.0 mi (48:45 / mi)
slept:6.0 weight:179lbs (injured)

Fort Hunk Park, VA. I was off work this morning so that I could finally get a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) session on my knee. That went quickly and smoothly. There was only a moment or two when the loudness of the machine made me feel nervous (he gave me ear muffs before beginning). The technician said it'd take 15-20 minutes but it was over before I thought it would be. I was surprised that he didn't immobilize my leg during the scanning. I only reflex twitched once or twice but I wonder how the machine deals with such things. I was nearly asleep when he told me it was time to get up. The pictures look interesting but I don't know how to read them. I have another appointment with my orthopedist next week if I can squeeze it in before a trip to Kansas City.

I took the rest of the day off for some errands and a day of field checking. I mostly walked but sometimes set off on short jogs as I took GPS tracks of trails and vegetation boundaries. My tracks and cummulative time making tracks added up to a bit over 2 hours and a bit over 5 miles. The rest of the time I was either moving between points or hand drawing things. It was a lovely day to be out. Now that I've had a much more thorough tour of the park, I am surprised to discover how much has changed. A major trail has been completely over grown and is no longer really there--only traces remain for a discerning eye. In general, over the 25-30 years ago that I frequented the park, the vegetation has pushed out. It's the thick vine like stuff at the edges of forest that seems to keep encroaching onward into the fields. I could even see the difference between now and the more recent Google Earth aerials. Some of this is unfortunate since the old trails allowed for more course setting opportunities.

Bicycling (Commute) 38:31 [3] 11.73 mi (3:17 / mi)
slept:5.0 weight:180lbs (injured)

From Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD to 12th & C St. SW, Washington, D.C. Since Peggy had taken Max to day care, I rode straight in. It was the warmest morning yet this year--in the 70s and a little humid but not like summer. I rode alone. There were some winds along Ohio Dr. as the warm air pumped in from the southwest.

Bicycling (Commute) 43:44 [3] 11.11 mi (3:56 / mi)

From C St. SW, Washington, D.C, to Rosedale Ave. via Independence Ave. I left work late. Part of this ride includes a bit in the courtyard and through the inside halls of the basement of the building where I work. The bulding is two blocks long. I took it easy spinning mostly though I pushed in a few places. I had some tailwinds in places.

Orienteering race (Foot) 1:09:48 intensity: (20:11 @3) + (49:37 @4) *** 6.6 km (10:35 / km)
ahr:146 max:173 spiked:8/12c slept:8.0 (injured)

I started this without my head into it. We had gotten to the meet site rather late and though I got to the line with a few minutes to relax, my head was more focused on having gotten Max to child care. I ran Green Open because I felt I'd do too much damage to my knee by running longer. After some throbbing yesterday evening and aches in the morning, I think I made the right choice.

Going to #1, thought it'd be an easy control. It was a short leg. I aimed off to the left a bit to be safe, passed the control and crossed a trail without seeing it. At the next trail, I went on but I figured it was dropping and that I somehow passed it. By the time I found it, I was feeling a need to rush and make up time. In doing so, I missed a great route that Greg Lennon showed me using the road to get to #2. After climbing the hill and cutting off, I got confused on the trails, missing the correct turn. I realized this quickly because the trail was climbing. I stopped and headed down across some messy woods. I figured I'd just better take a pit stop that I should have done before the race if I'd been more focused on it. I fumbled my way to #2, not having seen the giant catching feature stone wall until very late. On the way to #3, I was more focused but I'm not if sure climbing to the road was the best route. I was a bit high on #4. I hit #5 well, then passed #6 somehow. I came off a squared contour attack point with only a few 10s of meters to go and didn't see it in a low ditch. I eventually found #7, went back to #6, then moved on. I ran better to 8, catching people whom I was with at #6. Finally getting more into the swing of things, I ran and read better the rest of the course. At #10, I found Dave Onkst and another rather tired Army Blue runner. I passed them going to the Go control. It was interesting racing here and I enjoyed getting out. I hurt my knee more so that it ached sitting down on the drive home.

Running warm up/down (Street & Trail) 7:30 [3] 0.86 mi (8:43 / mi)
ahr:121 max:139 slept:7.0 (injured)

Hickory Run State Park, PA. Warm up for the DVOA Chasing the Star/Team Trials event. I ran from the child care place where I'd dropped-off Max, to the start line. It was downhill. My knee felt about like it did the day before--this was better than I'd hoped.

Orienteering (Foot) 45:06 intensity: (25:06 @3) + (20:00 @4) *** 4.3 mi (10:29 / mi) +160m 9:24 / mi
ahr:154 max:173 spiked:10/14c (injured)

DVOA Chasing the Star; Middle. This was the first woods running that I'd done since the A-meet at Lechworth. I kept nearly a steady effort. Despite the visibility and light green, I read the map fairly well through control 6. I crossed the reentrant going toward #7 and saw the fence so I was on line till there. I noticed Peggy behind me and probably should have been paying closer attention to my compass. I hit the ridge and wall of green that 7 was on without crossing a reentrant that I had intended to. Confused I turned left and went down a knoll. That was the right direction but I should have gone one more knoll down (I didn't see another) I reversed direction and found other controls. Fortunately the second was my #8. All of this cost me around 3 minutes. Coming back, I was overconfident and got off line, losing another 30 seconds. I screwed up #9 by not realizing that it was a road crossing control. My technique was not so good going to #10 but I managed to not lose any time on it. I fumbled a bit at #12. It seemed all of my errors were distraction related. As I neared the Go control, I could see Peggy ahead. I tried to catch her but she was too far up. However, it turned out that my effort saved me 4 seconds on the run in over Andras Revesz and secured me 3rd in M45+ by 3 seconds. This was the hardest that I've run in about 2 months. It did come with a price as my knee hurt more afterward.

Orienteering race (Foot) 29:55 [3] **** 3.13 km (9:33 / km) +58m 8:45 / km
ahr:150 max:175 spiked:14/18c slept:6.0 weight:177lbs (injured)

DVOA Chasing Star at Leghigh University, Bethlehelm, PA. I planned to try to run a bit today and did so more than I have in nearly 2 months. I was worried about a downhill sprint being rough on my knee. It didn't hurt when running but I didn't go all out either. Only time will tell if I did damage or not--I have an MRI scheduled for next week. I ran at moderate paces. I was slow getting out of the start because I couldn't find the start triangle. My thumb was covering it. I made a 3:20 error on #10. With a 1:4,000 scale, I had looked for a a road that I'd already passed. After recovering, I ran the rest of the course with Jeff Saeger either ahead or behind me. I was fortunate to have him near on #14. I went to where I thought it would be but didn't realize it was on a terrace above me. I finished just ahead. I had trouble reading the map in many places. In a few places, I had trouble distinguishing the olive green out of bounds areas from stairs. The stairs often looked like fuzzy areas on the map as I was running. Only after the race did I realize what they were. This was fun. My GPS track tells me that I covered 3.12 miles in this race.

slept:5.0 weight:177.5lbs (injured)

From Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD to 12th & C. St. SW, Washington, D.C. It was a nice cool morning again. I set a good pace after dropping off Max and passed a lot of people along the way. On the flats, one of them helped get me to Georgetown. The tailwinds along the river were nice though I got stuck behind some people in places where I couldnt' pass.

I decided not to ride yesterday. I have some regret about it but it was probably best since I could start to feel some warnings from my knee.

Bicycling (Commute) 41:20 [3] 10.64 mi (3:53 / mi)
(injured)

From C. St. SW, Washington, D.C. to Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD. I had a nice ride with slight headwinds. I took it easier but spinning along, I still kept a fair pace. I carried some extra weight and overloaded my pannier. I finally bought a digital SLR after waiting several years for the price to drop on the features that I wanted. I met Peggy and Max near the metro station and we strolled home together.

Bicycling (Commute) 48:05 [4] 13.5 mi (3:34 / mi)
slept:5.5 weight:178lbs (injured)

From Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD to 12th & C. St. SW, Washington, D.C. I rode Max to school with his lunch and in my continuing series of recent forgetfulness I realized that I'd forgotten to grab my panier. I scurried back home for it, then cut across Bethesda to the CCT. I moved pretty quickly down the grade passing a bunch of other riders at 20-22mph. On the flats at over 20mph, I caught and settled behind one for a little while but we traded some pulls afterward. Along the river and Ohio Dr., there were several other riders. I got stuck behind some in the tunnels then moved along over 20mph. Someone finally caught and passed me before the 14th St. Bridge. He zig-zagged and I couldn't keep up as he accelerated past. He was headed my way so I was only a few seconds behind him at 15th St. and Independence Ave. SW. It's been nice and cool out.

Bicycling (Commute) 58:22 [3] 13.9 mi (4:12 / mi)
(injured)

From C. St. SW, Washington, D.C. to Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD via Rock Creek Park. I left work close to 6pm. A storm was brewing. I got blasted on Ohio Dr. again but another commuter who probably left very near where I had decided to pass at that time. Though tucked in behind him, and still the winds were bad. I led rounding past the Lincoln Memorial and lost him near the underpasses where there were other cyclists going the other way on the one way portion of the trail. Emerging from the underpasses, the crazy wind neary knocked me down several times. I guess fatness was good for something since I didn't fall. I estimate the gusts that hit me off the river at 40+mph and by this time it had started to rain lightly. Not wanting to deal with it along the river, I again rode up Rock Creek. I stayed in the sheltering valley all the way to Wyse Rd., then cut across Chevy Chase mostly on Thornapple Rd. Fortunately the winds had died down by the time I left the park. I got to Max's daycare via Lynn Rd. again and picked up his trailer. It was late enough that traffic had died down somewhat so I cut across Bethesda to home.

Bicycling (Commute) 41:35 [4] 12.03 mi (3:27 / mi)
slept:5.25 weight:178.5lbs (injured)

From Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD to 12th & C. St. SW, Washington, D.C. It seemed like March. I had a pretty good headwind as early as going through the Bethesda tunnel. It stayed that way off and on until getting to Thompson Boathouse where I got a good tailwind. I picked-up two riders around the Dalecarlia Reservoir as I passed them. One of them exchanged a pull but I did almost all of the work into Georgetown.

Bicycling (Commute) 58:44 [3] 13.65 mi (4:18 / mi)
(injured)

From C. St. SW, Washington, D.C. to Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD via Rock Creek Park. It was pretty windy again so I opted to seek shelter in the steep Rock Creek valley. Part of the trail had been repaved so it was smoother than it had been last year. I climbed out of the park on Ridg Rd. Though steeper than my usual ride up the Capital Crescent Trail, it was a welcome change of view. I caught a cyclist who wasn't commuting and continued on Oregon Ave. I never seem to take the same way across Chevy Chase but eventually got to Brookville Rd., Bradley Ln., Maple Ave. and Lynn Dr. From Lynn Dr., I finally found a pedestrian cut through that I'd seen from the Georgetown Branch Trail but never used before. It'll be good to use for running someday when I can run again. I finished by picking up Max's trailer and going the usual route home.

Orienteering (Field Checking) 1:16:00 [1] *** 1.6 mi (47:30 / mi)
slept:5.0 (injured)

Fort Hunt Park, VA. I overslept but eventually got out to do some field checking. Fort Hunt is where I trained for Cross Country racing in high school, starting almost 33 years ago. Though much had changed, much had remained the same too. Some of the trees had spread covering an old trail along a field. The artillery fortifications, designed but never used to protect Washington D.C. against a sea attack, used to be covered by immature trees back then but have been cleared out. One can see the forts from the fields now. On our old cross country course a shallow grassy depression in a field had remained and filled with water just as it used to. That reminds me that this is sort of the second time that I'm mapping the park. I still have a hand drawn memory made depiction that I created as team captain to show others where the cross country course went. This time Greg Lennon helped to set me up with a rectified base map. I've got nice aerials and I am using GPS for the many vegetation boundaries/features. The woods tend to run thick in areas but there are lots of trails and over half the park is covered with trees or scattered trees. It's mostly a picnic park now but 5K and 10Ks are run around the loop road. Cyclists like the loop road too--it's only 1.22 miles around . The elevation doesn't get much more than 50ft. Most of the park is flat but it does drop down to the Potomac River where you can see nice views of Fort Washington on the other bank. The contours for Fort Hunt Park are going to be 5ft. I think this will be a fun sprint or short course area. With the slow start this morning, I covered only a very small area. There was much more detail around the main fort than I expected. It also started to rain about halfway into this. I got back in time to go see some open houses and later we took Max to his first movie theatre to see Horton Hears a Who.

Bicycling (Commute) 45:00 [3] 12.03 mi (3:44 / mi)
slept:5.25 weight:179.5lbs (injured)

From Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD to 12th & C. St. SW, Washington, D.C. I once again proved that it's best not to decide just when waking up whether I'll ride or not. It was raining and the forecast called for a lot more. Having had a few falls in the rain, I shy away from wet rides though I'm usually comfortable riding when I'm out in them. Since it was Bike to Work Day, I proceded to get ready for riding anyway. It was an ominous coincidence that I grabbed my Bike to Work shirt from 2006--it was on top of the pile. The rain had stoped but as I started getting Max in his trailer, it started to sprinkle. He was covered but I once again doubted the wisdom of riding in to work as I splashed mud going up the unpaved Georgetown Branch Trail to Max's daycare school. Leaving him and emerging on my commuter from the tunnel under the Air Rights Building, I was happy about my choice again. Hords of cyclists were at Bethesda Ave, Woodmont Ave. intersection. They were looking at vendor tents, getting free mechanical tuning and waiting around tents while lottery numbers were being called. Though I didn't stop, it felt good to be a part of it. As I rode on a little slower than usual in the on and off showers, I got to thinking again about how nice it is to connect with the world this way, rather than be in a bubble all the time. My cycle computer could have used a bubble because the water shorted it out several times along the way--time and distance are estimated.

Bicycling (Commute) 48:54 [3] 11.85 mi (4:08 / mi)
(injured)

From C. St. SW, Washington, D.C. to Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD. As I left the building at work and stepped into a courtyard to get my bicycle, I knew immediately that it was going to be a windy ride home. It actually felt colder than the morning and swirls were forceful. Exiting the gate to C. St., a blast of wind caught me. Even my balance was going to be tested. The worst was on Ohio Dr. where head winds off the Potomac River were sure to have been exceeding 30mph. They slowed me to just 11mph. Once to Georgetown, there was partial protection. One thing of note there with all the weird weather is that for the first time, I saw that the sea walls were up at the waterfront. The rest of the way home my speeds hardly exceeded 16mph. Besides the winds, I guess I'm rather heavy and was feeling tired too--not much motivation to push. Once in the protections of the tunnel at Bethesda, things were reversed and I easily got up to 20mph before grabbing Max's trailer.

Bicycling (Commute) 50:34 [3] 13.63 mi (3:43 / mi)
slept:5.75 weight:177.5lbs (injured)

From Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD to 12th & C. St. SW, Washington, D.C. Today after riding Max to his daycare, I discovered that I again had forgotten to bring his lunch--Max was tired and not having one of his better mornings. This and getting late trying to give him some medicine distracted me. I rode back to pickup and drop off his lunch then rode in pretty much alone. I was tired and slowish. I got passed in the last mile going into Georgetown but I held on for a draft doing +22mph. My current normal route was detoured. The sidewalk along the Potomac River in the Georgetown waterfront was closed due to the high water. I had a slight headwind getting to the 14th St. Bridge.

Bicycling (Commute) 45:31 intensity: (30:31 @3) + (15:00 @4) 12.08 mi (3:46 / mi)
(injured)

From 14th & Independence Ave. SW, Washington, D.C., to Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD. Initially, it appeared that there were tailwinds but I couldn't seem to generate much wattage. There were lots of cars about and many people playing sports. About a mile out of Georgetown, I got passed by a guy doing 19mph on the flats. I sucked off his wheel all the way up to the water treatment overpass then pulled for a mile or more. He took over from there until the last mile into Bethesda. I remember pulling for this man last year but he was in much better shape than I am right now. In the last mile, there were hords of pedestrians doing some kind of organized walk including what looked like a beauty queen sashed and crowned. The rest was normal after picking up Max's trailer.

Bicycling (Commute) 42:39 [3] 11.72 mi (3:38 / mi)
slept:6.0 weight:77lbs (injured)

From Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD to 12th & C. St. SW, Washington, D.C. Due to the dampness from the recent heavy rains I had planned to take the metro to work. I pushed Max in a stroller to his daycare school but I forgot his lunch and quilts so I walked back home. Once there I decided to bicycle since the weather was getting nice so fast and I thought it might actually be quicker to bike back to the daycare with Max's lunch and go to work than it would be to walk and use the metro trains. By the time I changed clothes, it probably worked out to be the same length of time. The ride was nice and cool and breezy--about 59-60F with only a few slippery/wet spots.

Bicycling (Commute) 43:40 [3] 11.36 mi (3:51 / mi)
(injured)

From C St. SW, Washington, D.C. to Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD. It was nice going home. I had to detour a bit going through the Georgetown waterfront. A portion of the way along the water was submerged by the rising waters. It was fairly dry on the path here earlier. I also encountered mixed headwinds and tailwinds. My pace up the hill was good until getting closer to Bethesda. Slow downs due to high pedestrian traffic and the subsequent speedups took it out of me.

Orienteering (Foot) 41:12 [1] 1.15 mi (35:49 / mi)
slept:5.0 weight:176lbs (injured)

Balls Bluff Regional Park, VA. Whie Peggy ran the Red course, I walked with Max doing a portion of the White course. Max was tired starting out. He stopped several times along the road--this was manifested as a knight who got rusty. My oil can fixed it twice. Alex Merka had already run the course so Max didn't have the frenzy of play pals to keep him going. By the time we got to the 3rd control at the bottom of a hill, he said he wanted to go back so we did. On the way, we got a few more controls but I had to hoist him on my shoulders for the last two. I liked what I saw of the park. It looked like it would be a lot of fun to run and the map expansion seems like a great addition to QOC's inventory. The woods weren't wide open but in many places it was delightful. The map was a work in progress. I noted several things on my walk including a missing reentrant. The rains held off until just as we got into the car to go see my mother and famile for Mother's Day.

From Rosedale Ave., Maryland Ave. to Jones Bridge Rd. to Rockville Pike, to Cedar La. to Beach Dr. to the Georgetown Branch Trail, to Kentbury Way to Lynbrook Dr. to Maple Dr. to Maryland Ave. to Rosedale Ave. Since by the afternoon the rains had cleared up and I got the lawn mowed, I had a chance to sneak a ride with Max. We splashed through some puddles along the way. As usual, we stopped at a playground. Though not very big, he liked this rennovated one off of Jones Mill Rd. in Rock Creek, MD. It had one of his favorite motocycle rides and a crank-it race car track.

slept:5.5 weight:176lbs (injured)

From Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD to 12th & C. St. SW, Washington, D.C. After dropping off Max, I fell in with a fast crowd of 3 other Blue jerseyed cyclists. Speeds were varied in this loose pace line--between 20-27mph. I pulled a little more than my share worth to Georgetown. From there to work, winds and fatigue slowed it down.

Bicycling (Commute) 42:08 intensity: (30:00 @3) + (12:08 @4) 11.28 mi (3:44 / mi)
(injured)

From C St. SW, Washington, D.C. to Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD. Hit with a blast of wind as I exited the building where I work, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had both headwinds and tailwinds which made significant differences in speed. Right out of Georgetown, I picked-up a guy in tow. We passed others. As I looked back it seemed there might have been up to 4 trailing me. I just kept my pace steady and spinning away. I lost a few on the first inclines and at least one more on the rough cut construction detour at the approach to the county line. I finally got some help after the MacArthur Blvd. tunnel but again finished up from River Rd. as the last person turned off behind me. Since Peggy picked up Max with the trailer, I was able to head straight home. The weather has been great. It's also nice to be able to workout again. It makes me feel much better. I see a different orthopedist on Monday.

Bicycling (Commute) 42:16 [3] 12.03 mi (3:31 / mi)
slept:6.25 weight:175lbs (injured)

From Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD to 12th & C. St. SW, Washington, D.C. Since my excursion cycling over the weekend seemed to do okay with regard to my knee, I thought it best to start cycle commuting again. The weather was about as good as it gets in the low 60s F, clear skies, and a likely tailwind. As usual when I start cycling again I tried to keep the cadence up and the speed down. It's ever so hard not to push. After dropping off Max I joined the trail in the middle of some widely spaced cyclists who eventually formed a line. Speeds were modest and I didn't move to take the lead to share the load. Everyone remained behind one guy who stopped at Fletcher's Boathouse. From there I pulled most of the way on the flats at over 20mph until an older and heavier guy took over for the last part into Georgetown. I kept it to an easier pace the rest of the way.

From C. St. SW, Washington, D.C. to Rosedale Ave., Bethesda, MD. With Peggy home sick, I had to get back in time to pickup Max. There were strong headwinds until I got to Fletcher's Boathouse. The trees provided some shelter while climbing. I was slowish but kept a good spin riding by myself. Max was tired when I got him (40:40 into the ride) but as he usually is, he kept wanting to do more. We stopped at the playground and played till he got ornery with a stick--he was hungry and thirsty.

We decided to use the time to hunt for houses instead of going to the QOC sprints at College Park. I would have been slow and the hard/steep surfaces probably wouldn't have been good for either Peggy nor myself. I wanted to try to ride this day but we ran out of time. I was able to dig another garden which I'd been planning to do for several years. I made a quick but not necessarily great job of it since there were lots of tree roots. I had tried to kneel on the ground on my knees a few times but couldn't do it without getting some sharp pain in my left knee. I stopped trying. Making the garden was satisfying. Gardening is something I've missed doing a bit. In the evening I did some drafting from aerials of Ft. Hunt Park. It's where I first did Cross Country running as a team sport and Greg Lennon had given me some base map materials.

From Rosedale Ave. out and back, Maryland Ave. to Jones Bridge Rd. to Rockville Pike, to Cedar La. to the Elmhirst Trail, to the Rock Creek Trail, to Grosvenor Rd. to Tuckerman Rd. to the Bethesda Trolley Trail, to Executive Blvd. With people coming to see the house which is up for sale, we rode our bicycles to meet our running club at Pannera Bread. This was the first cycling I've done since hurting my knee. I felt some pangs here and there; some in my right knee which is not injured. We took it fairly easy though when towing Max in his trailer from a stand still and climbing some hills, I felt like I was doing work and causing some strain. We had a couple stops including the destination turn around point and a playground.
