running 46:20 [3] 9.1 km (5:05 / km)
shoes: Kayano 25

DOMS from yesterday's exertion meant this morning was just happening.

Wednesday Jan 30, 2019 #

running 30:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Zoom air grey

Warm up run to training group and then and warm down run home

Exercise session 25:00 [4]

Tough session.
Warm up flexibility exercises for a couple of minutes. Then a circuit of 10 pushups, 20 dynamic lunges, 10 frog kick outs, 400m run. Repeat 5 times and then finish with 20 burpies. (Got through this in 17:50) Finish with 5 minutes of core work.

Tuesday Jan 29, 2019 #

running 48:50 [3] 10.3 km (4:44 / km)
shoes: Kayano 25

Enjoyable run.
Delivery of household goods today. Don’t have to camp in the flat any more, and more than 1 plate each. Wine from a glass for a change.

Monday Jan 28, 2019 #

running 29:00 [3] 6.0 km (4:50 / km)
shoes: Zoom air grey

Short this morning. Had to leave by 7:30, so not a lot of time.

Managed to get registered for a free Oyster card, by being over 60 and living in a London borough, so can now travel around the London transport system at no cost. This is despite being paid from Australia and not being a UK tax payer. Seems overly generous.

Sunday Jan 27, 2019 #

running 48:30 [3] 10.1 km (4:48 / km) +100m 4:35 / km
shoes: Zoom air grey

In Fordingbridge for the weekend. A loop through Damerham and Alderholth. Got some hills for variety.

Note

Went to Highcliff Castle for a walk. Exiting the car park saw the start/finish for the new permanent course. Walked along the beach/ path. About 5 degrees, but hundreds of people walking along the beach. Great views of Isle of Wight and the needles.

Friday Jan 25, 2019 #

running 51:50 [3] 10.8 km (4:48 / km)
shoes: Zoom air grey

After nearly 3 weeks of being dry the weather reverted to stereotype and was cold and damp.

Thursday Jan 24, 2019 #

running 39:50 [3] 8.2 km (4:51 / km)
shoes: Kayano 25

Clockwise lap of Regents Park.
Big week of additional things at work with 3 social engagements. Tonight it was the Australia Day drinks at the HC. Very varied gathering. It was on tonight because a lot of people have other things on on Friday, and Saturday is on the weekend.

Wednesday Jan 23, 2019 #

running 29:00 [3] 6.0 km (4:50 / km)
shoes: Zoom air grey

To and from exercise session.

Exercise session 40:00 [4]

November Project session. Decided to go back again, and was "rewarded" with another tough session.

Tuesday Jan 22, 2019 #

running 45:00 [3] 9.3 km (4:50 / km)
shoes: Kayano 25

Better effort this morning, despite a late night. Headed along Piccadilly to Green Park. Lap of the park and then St James park then up Park Lane and back home via Oxford and Regent Sts.
Last night was the First Sea Lord's dinner. Pleasant evening, but very formal - dinner suit or full evening dress uniform. A lot of gold braid and epaulettes on display.

Monday Jan 21, 2019 #

running 41:00 [3] 8.0 km (5:08 / km)
shoes: Zoom air grey

A bit sluggish this morning. Legs were tired, and it was cold.

Sunday Jan 20, 2019 #

running 1:07:20 [3] 14.0 km (4:49 / km)
shoes: Kayano 25

Explored a new area this morning. Picked up the Thames embankment at Charring Cross and went west. Crossed the river at Albert bridge and back through Battersea park, around the power station and then along the southern embankment. A bit further than I originally intended, but a very pleasant run.

Friday Jan 18, 2019 #

running 39:30 [3] 8.0 km (4:56 / km)
shoes: Zoom air grey

A bit shorter as I was anticipating a big day moving.
The day proved to be more complex than anticipated. Walked from the temporary accommodation in Marylebone to the new place in Soho. After the check in walked back to Marylebone and collected the luggage. Taxi back to Soho. The walk was 25 minutes, the taxi was 40! Arrived with the luggage ok, but no keys for us. The building conceirge let me in, then sat around waiting for the agent to deliver some keys so we could go out again. Had to go to a 3:30 meeting at work, and when I arrived back at 5 still no keys. The conceirge gave us his set for the weekend, so we could get back in.
Also no boxes from oz, so we are existing on 2 borrowed plates, bowls, knives and forks, plus some rented sheets and doona. The shipping agent in Australia screwed up, and it still hadn’t left. Will be another week before it gets here. Tell myself to keep smiling, but I think Monday will be shitty email day to the shipping agent.

Thursday Jan 17, 2019 #

running 40:30 [3] 8.3 km (4:53 / km)
shoes: Kayano 25

Upper body DOMS, legs and core were ok, but shoulders and upper arms were suffering.

Wednesday Jan 16, 2019 #

running 30:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Zoom air grey

Warm up and warm down run from accommodation to the corner of green park

Exercise session 40:00 [4]

Joined the London November Project group for their weekly session. This was tough, but enjoyable.
The November Project is a free group fitness session with locations in Europe, US and Asia. The good thing it is scalable to your fitness level working through a circuit at your own pace. The bad thing it is only once a week.
Had been missing the regular exercise sessions, so went fairly hard, and will probably regret that tomorrow

Tuesday Jan 15, 2019 #

running 54:30 [3] 11.0 km (4:57 / km)
shoes: Kayano 25

Slight miscalculation meant this was a bit longer than planned.

Monday Jan 14, 2019 #

running 38:50 [3] 8.2 km (4:44 / km)
shoes: Zoom air grey

Loop of Regents Park. Another variation of the route to and from.
First real day in the new job. Not too arduous but I expect there will be killer days

Sunday Jan 13, 2019 #

running 58:50 [3] 12.1 km (4:52 / km)
shoes: Kayano 25

Around some of the internal paths in Hyde Park. An opportunity to see a couple of new things.
So far after a week the temperature has been +ve the whole time, (max has been 8), it hasn’t rained and there has been one day of blue sky. Just wondering how long it can last

Friday Jan 11, 2019 #

running 52:20 [3] 10.8 km (4:51 / km)
shoes: Zoom air grey

Along Oxford St to Hyde Park, a lap of the park and then back along Oxford St.
A full on week with a lot of information to absorb. Good thing is we have a permanent place to move into. Looking forward to moving. The temporary accommodation selected by the HC is clearly designed to encourage you to find a permanent place quickly. There is barely enough room to get around the bed, the bathroom floor resembles a 3D solution to laplace’s equation, the water from shower is more horizontal than vertical, there is a building site immediately outside the window, and a couple of prostitutes in residence down the hall. Only good thing is the location

Thursday Jan 10, 2019 #

running 38:40 [3] 8.0 km (4:50 / km)
shoes: Kayano 25

Basically the reverse of Tuesday.

Wednesday Jan 9, 2019 #

running 46:20 [3] 9.7 km (4:47 / km)
shoes: Zoom air grey

Loop along the Seine from near the Eiffel Tower to Isle Cite along right bank and back on the left

Tuesday Jan 8, 2019 #

running 38:30 [3] 8.0 km (4:49 / km)
shoes: Kayano 25

From Marylebone High St to Regents Park, a lap of the park, and then back via a different route.
Expecting a big day of walking house hunting, so kept it a bit shorter.

Note

Started walking at 9 and got to sit down for lunch at 1pm. Had looked at 6 different properties between 9:30 and 1, which made 9 all up so far, some good and some not so. What was surprising is the lack of care and preparation that some places had been given. One place still had the previous tenants dirty washing in the washing machine. If you are asking top dollar for a flat ($1500 to $2000 per week) then you expect it to be clean and presentable.
Left Glenda to look at the afternoon’s quota by herself and went to catch the train to Paris. We had agreed on the winner from the morning and I wasn’t expecting much from the afternoon selection.

Monday Jan 7, 2019 #

running 47:20 [3] 9.9 km (4:47 / km)
shoes: Zoom air grey

A loop around Hyde Park. After a rest day yesterday was good to get a solid run in. Not as cold as yesterday.

Saturday Jan 5, 2019 #

Note

Left at 43 degrees and arrived at 3, with grey skies, makes one think WTF have I done!
About to head out for a long walk and to start the house hunting process

Friday Jan 4, 2019 #

running 40:40 [3] 8.0 km (5:05 / km)
shoes: Kayano 25

Was feeling tired this morning, not the best night's sleep. Along The Strand to power station and back.

Thursday Jan 3, 2019 #

running 1:08:00 [3] 13.0 km (5:14 / km)
shoes: Kayano 25

Easy run with a couple of friends

Wednesday Jan 2, 2019 #

running 41:40 [3] 8.4 km (4:58 / km)

Felt tired of his morning, but plodded away.
