A short run this morning. Catching the early morning ferry, so time was limited. Legs were a bit tired so I wasn't pushing.

From Poole to Sandbanks and back. Some of the most expensive real estate in the UK is in Sandbanks. Favoured territory of footballers. Was doing it fairly easily on the outward trip, but the return was into the headwind, so tougher.

Run around Baiter Park and along the quay in Poole.

Walk from Ludlow to Durndle Door and back, plus some walking around Poole. The climb up is 1 in 3 going one way for over half a km. The other way is shorter and steeper. It was sunny, but not hot, maybe 17 or 18. Even so the locals were wearing shorts, t shirts and swimming.

The original schedule for the day had 10 hours on the ground in Melbourne between flying in from Tokyo and leaving for the UK, but with a couple of hours occupied by work meetings. Arrived 2 hours late, so a bit of rearranging was necessary. Managed to get through the meetings with extra efficiency, but the day felt rushed, and this was all there was time for.

Opposite direction this morning. I was an hour earlier so it was a bit cooler and less humid.
Went past a couple of "Love Hotels" where guests pay by the hour. Apparently they are popular with couples who come in before they go to dinner or out for the evening.

Jogged around the carpark assembly area a couple of times and then to the start.

A mixed bag. First miss was on 3, when I was too far right. Saw number 4, but knew it wasn't mine so ignored it. The description was a mound and there were stoned mounds in the erosion where I was. Took about 30 seconds to realise, and then another minute to run to 3. Back to 4 OK. Was hesitant on 5, but didn't lose time. Good through to what I thought was 14, then got a bit low going to 15. Realised the mistake and where I was, but another minute or so lost. No trouble on the last couple.
Finished to be told I had a mispunch, 14. This was the easiest control on the course. There were 2 controls within 15 m of each other. I navigated to the circle, spotted a control and punched. Ran past the second flag on the way to 15, but didn't see it, because I wasn't looking, because there should not have been a second flag!
Asked to be reinstated, based on the rule violation, but had to leave to go to a fund raising afternoon tea before I had a definitive answer. Probably looked like a dummy spit, but it wasn't, the tea was for a good cause and had been booked in months ago.

It was a bi t windy this morning. Loafed with the wind and then worked harder into it. The tide was the highest I have ever seen it this morning. There is a sheltered corner of the beach behind the breakwater that was cover this morning, that I don't ever remember being covered before.

Early run. The wind was blowing when I headed out making the conditions tough, particularly when heading directly into it. Took a sheltered route to The Strand and then did 1 km into the wind, and 1 km back. 5:50 going, and 4:20 back.
