running 50:40 [3] 11.1 km (4:34 / km)
shoes: saucony guide 4

Loosen up run out and back through jawbone. Nice to run without feeling soaked at the end.

running 41:00 [3] 8.2 km (5:00 / km) +50m 4:51 / km
shoes: saucony hurricane 13

Easy steady paced run on the flat.

running 1:05:00 [3] 12.5 km (5:12 / km) +250m 4:44 / km
shoes: saucony hurricane 13

Went up the hill again, and then contoured in the opposite direction. It was more humid this morning, but was enjoying the views, so kept plugging along. Was managing about 4:40ish pace on the flat, but the up hill stretches were steep, and the pace dropped back. Run was basically 3 sections, up; out and back flat; and then down. Several sets of stairs as well. The flat had no traffic so there were a lot of people along the flat either walking or running.

running 47:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:13 / km) +300m 4:29 / km
shoes: saucony hurricane 13

Opted to head up the hill to one of the "flatter" streets that contour around. Climb up was steady, except for a couple of 1 in 4 sections. Once up the view was great, and the road flat for a while. Flat section ran out after about 1.5 k, and then it was steady, gentle climb. Coming down was easy, except for the really steep parts.

running 45:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: saucony hurricane 13

This morning was a shock to the system,25 and very humid. Kept to the flat but the peak looks tempting. 45 minutes was about the limit of moisture the tee shirt could soak up

running 1:01:40 [3] 12.8 km (4:49 / km) +200m 4:28 / km
shoes: saucony hurricane 13

Last run around Salisbury. Loop of the city, then up St Marks hill, out through Laverstock, and en up and over Laverstock Down. Overcast morning, and light rain by the time I had finished. Fitting sort of end.
had the final inspection on the house, and all that was wrong was couldn't find one set of keys. Headed off to London to hand the paperwork in at the HC and on the way out to Heathrow found them in the backpack, where I had put them when we went away last week. Rang the agent, and will post back from HK.

running 1:18:40 [3] 16.0 km (4:55 / km) +100m 4:46 / km
shoes: saucony hurricane 13

Felt tired this morning, and legs were feeling heavy. Stuck with it and started to come good towards the end. Really lovely morning, clear blue sky.

running 50:20 [3] 10.4 km (4:50 / km) +150m 4:31 / km
shoes: saucony hurricane 13

Needed the run to let off steam.
Have been working methodically through the todo list in preparation for departing Monday.
Late Feb wrote to council and utilities arringing for final meter readings etc. Gave notice to agent.
Throughout march started packing things and putting things aside into airfreight and sea freight piles.
Tuesday went to bank and chanthe one ged address to back in Australia. Collected all relevant bills etc and put into airfreight pile.
Thursday AM packers came in, packed goods and took away. Thursday afternoon started cleaning.
Firday morning went to PO to redirect mail. Lady on the counter said they needed two lots of ID, passport and one of bank statement, council tax, etc. List of letters that were acceptable was very specific. Couldn't get a new print out of bank statement because we had changed the address, previous ones were in the airfreight, and council tax was paid by AHC.
I went back to hotel and collected everything with our Salisbury address on it. Back to PO, finally they said Glend's P45 tax statement would be OK. So back to hotel to get her passport. Finally job done.
Time for a run.

running 49:10 [3] 10.2 km (4:49 / km) +50m 4:42 / km
shoes: saucony hurricane 13

Up early, so headed out for a run. Struggled a bit and found it hard work this morning.
Back home to await the removalists. Strange seeing "all your wordly poscession" laid out waiting to be put into boxes. In one sense you wonder at how you could accumulate so much stuff in such a short space of time, but on the other hand the pile seems rather small.

walk 5:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (25:00 / km) +1000m 17:39 / km

Cinque terre. Normally don't log walks on holidays, but an exception for this one.
Caught the train from Levanto and then walked back. A couple of sections of the "costal" path were closd, so had to go up and inland. Several big climbs. Amazing views. Managed to just finish one section when there was a huge thunderstorm, complete with hail the size of jaffas. Took shelter in the village and it soon passed.

Crossed the river this morning and took the long road up to the lookout. Great views over the city. A long slow climb. Back a different route, with a shorter steeper drop back down.
Than some more walking. Afternoon train to Levanto.

Monday Apr 2, 2012 #

running 47:50 [3] 8.0 km (5:59 / km)
shoes: saucony hurricane 13

Verona, loop rond the wall and river

Note

Interesting saga this afternoon catching the train. Had booked tickets on the net, Verona to Venice, 3 euros each. Supposed to collect them from the ticket machine at the station. It didn't recognize the reference. Went to the ticket desk, they said it was a German train and sent me to the obs ticket office. They sent me to the trentalia ticket office, who in turn sent me to the machine. The help person there sent me to the ticket desk. At that stage they said to travel using the print out of the confirmation email. In the end it didnt matter because no one checked anyway.
