running 44:20 [3] 9.8 km (4:31 / km)
shoes: brooks trance9 mark 2

Managed to get out a bit earlier today. Came home early afternoo when the snow started to get heavier and was starting to cover te carpark at work. Not as much snow in Salisbury and it stopped about 4:30 so headed out for a quick run. Footpath was icy in a couple of places and required some extra care. Other than that it was non-evelntful

Monday Nov 29, 2010 #

running 49:40 [3] 10.6 km (4:41 / km) +200m 4:17 / km
shoes: brooks trance 9 (blue)

Headed out in the heat of the day. It was 0. A couple of good climbs on the run, including one section which was 50m climb in 400m. Every time I climbed to the top of a down it was noticably colder, and there was still snow lying around.

Sunday Nov 28, 2010 #

running 1:11:40 [3] 15.0 km (4:47 / km)
shoes: brooks trance9 mark 2

Morning run. Headed up the avon valley to little durbsford and then took the footpaths back throuhgh farms to old sarum, then on to ford and finally back into central salisbury. Snow was lying on the hill sides and in all the fields, plus on the trees. It was probably the coldest run for many years, but also the prettiest. Went for a drive in the afternoon. Snow on all the hills. Top temp for the day was -2. One up side is that because ot didn't get above 0, there was no frost and ice on the car.

Friday Nov 26, 2010 #

running 47:40 [3] 9.8 km (4:52 / km)
shoes: brooks trance 9 (blue)

Early run. Quidhampton and back. Really clear morning, wich meant it was also cold, -3 in Salisbury and -6 out at work a couple of hours later. Stayed clear for most of the day, which meant it stayed cold. After work walked to teh supermarket. Got out to find it was snowing.

Thursday Nov 25, 2010 #

running 47:00 [3] 10.1 km (4:39 / km)
shoes: brooks trance9 mark 2

Wednesday Nov 24, 2010 #

running 44:00 [3] 9.5 km (4:38 / km)
shoes: brooks trance 9 (blue)

Evening run. A relaively comfortable 0 degrees.

Tuesday Nov 23, 2010 #

running 55:40 [3] 11.6 km (4:48 / km)
shoes: brooks trance9 mark 2

Out early, which was OK. Not too cold this morning. Doesn't matter what time you go out now you end up running in the dark. The street lighting is generally pretty good, but there are spots where it is dark. Also there are some footpaths which are not well lit. Bought a head lamp to help with the issue. Having it has opened up so additional possibilities for the runs.

Monday Nov 22, 2010 #

running 44:50 [3] 9.7 km (4:37 / km)
shoes: brooks trance 9 (blue)

It is now getting dark at about 4:30 in the afternoon, and the weather is gradually getting colder. The max is expected to drop by 1 or 2 degrees per day for the rest of the week. Troule is that it was only 6 today, so by Friday itt will be snowing.

Sunday Nov 21, 2010 #

running 1:11:20 [3] 14.8 km (4:49 / km)
shoes: brooks trance 9 (blue)

Headed out of Salisbury on the footpath along the Avon. Looped around through several of the outer suburbs/c;ose-by villages, including the climb up to Stratford Castle. This is an old bronze age hill fort. Basically the ot and earth banks.
THen had some friends down from London, so did a thorough tour of the cathedral and then lunch at the pub.

Friday Nov 19, 2010 #

running 44:10 [3] 9.2 km (4:48 / km)
shoes: brooks trance9 mark 2

Moving day. Nice clear morning, which was good because I stayed dry, but bad because it was cold. Couldn't find my gloves, so by the tie I finished my hands were aching with the cold.
oving was hard work. Even though it was only one flight of stairs, by the time you have been up and down countless time the legs start to notice, aprticularly since the trips up were with extra load.

cold, cold, cold. This morning there was frost everywhere, so put off the run until after I got home from work. That meant it was +2 instead of -2.

Today is sight seeing day. Once again loops around the EUR area

walk 5:00:00 [1] 15.0 km (20:00 / km)

Tried to pack in as many of the highlights around Rome as possbile into todays walk. Started with the forum. Suceeded in doing most of the major tourist sights. Walked briskly between highlights and navigated using the hotel tourist map, or more corrently an artist's impression of a map.

running 43:00 [3] 9.2 km (4:40 / km) +150m 4:19 / km
shoes: brooks trance9 mark 2

Welcome to Rome. Staying on the edge of the EUR area. This is the area created by Musilini as the new "capital" to replace the old Rome. Lots of "relatively" new buildings all built in a grand style. Very impressive. So headed out and around the area to get a better look. He certainly had a grand vision for the area.

Sunday Nov 7, 2010 #

running 1:13:10 [3] 15.6 km (4:41 / km)
shoes: brooks trance 9 (blue)

Colod this morning so tights and long sleaved tee shirt. Turned out to be a nice day. Heading to Rome tomorrow for a week, so hopefully the weather will be a bit warmer

Friday Nov 5, 2010 #

running 55:00 [3] 12.0 km (4:35 / km)
shoes: brooks trance9 mark 2

Light misty rain this morning, but not too cold. Needs to be about 10 degrees colder and then it will be real english weather.

Thursday Nov 4, 2010 #

running 40:00 [3] 8.8 km (4:33 / km)
shoes: brooks trance 9 (blue)

A bit shorter this morning.

Wednesday Nov 3, 2010 #

running 50:00 [3] 11.0 km (4:33 / km)
shoes: brooks trance9 mark 2

Went round some of the streets in inner Salisbury getting bearings and working out the relative locations of tings.
Yesterday was house hunting day, and only saw one decent one. We had previously identified a couple in Winchester, but aren't allowed to live there (ruling of the Hitler reincarnate who runs the defence admin section at the HC in London) So we were confined to Salisbury. Went back for a second look today and I think it will be alright. Only issue is it doesn't have a fridge/freezer, washing machine and wardrobes (most houses here have a built in washing machine and nearly all come with a fridge/freezer as well) Can rent them but that puts the cost above the limit (set by madam hitler) There will need to be some discussions

Tuesday Nov 2, 2010 #

running 45:40 [3] 10.0 km (4:34 / km)
shoes: brooks trance9 mark 2

New shoes. Not sure if they were responsible for the speed, or I was hyped for the day ahead.

Monday Nov 1, 2010 #

running 44:00 [3] 9.3 km (4:44 / km)
shoes: brooks trance 9 (blue)

Out for an early run, crisp and dry. Big day house and car hunting. Managed to buy a car and also found a suitable house. Now all we need is to get the HC to agree to our selected location. They have a 15 km recommended radius from work. Problem is there are no decent houses to be found, so we have been looking outside the radius. Found a great place, now just have to get a waiver in the rule.
