Note

No time nor energy for any exercise today. Highlight was taking my last pill of the high-dose Revlimid for my induction/consolidation treatment. Hopefully I will see some improvement now on the brain fog issues.

hiking 13:07 [3] 1.08 km (12:10 / km) +30m 10:40 / km

Walk to the start. Longer than planned since we needed to park at the lodge instead of the pool due to the downed tree. Lucky that the two locations were so close together that it didn't impact anyone all that much.

Orienteering 1:17:26 [3] 4.86 km (15:56 / km) +247m 12:42 / km
ahr:126 max:145

Middle Distance Championships, Carter Caves State Resort Park. Finished 8th out of 11 finishers; one DNF.

Argh! Not a good day again. I couldn't process the quick decisions right out of the start. Was very frustrated by the cadets running around quickly behind me on the trail. I would step aside to let them by, only to have them stop dead in front of me to read the map. By the third time, it was really annoying. And being peppered by flying rocks heading up to #3 by Charle S ahead of me didn't make me any less annoyed. Started to settle a bit heading to #4, but wasn't sure exactly what I was looking for. Things got much better after #7, though I kept tripping, including on the fence.

Almost 14 minutes of errors.

I knew that coming down to this event while in the middle of Cycle 6 might not e a great idea and my performance showed that it wasn't. But I did see some friends and some state capitols and hopefully the brain fog will abate once I'm on the lower dose of Revlimid.

Long Nationals, Carter Caves State Resort Park. 9th of 11. Interesting that the F60 class was so large at this event.

Major brain issue going to #4. Couldn't relocate though it should have been clear where I was. Almost 24 minutes in errors. And it was steep! Luckily, I've been working hard at fighting fatigue with exercise, so I was able to manage ok. But did almost no running. The woods were a lot trashier than VA so I wasn't that happy moving through the terrain. Definitely not my favorite area for orienteering. But I can see the advantages with having the accommodations available and would like to come back to visit the caves at some point.

Note

Received my last shot of bortezomib! Not going to miss showing up at the clinic twice a week, but will miss the lovely nurses who have become friends. And then jumped into the car for our 13 hour drive to Kentucky.

My last post-chemo walk of my induction/consolidation therapy! One more shot on Friday, but we'll be jumping into the car to head to Kentucky. Still a couple more weeks of steroids and oral chemo, but I'm almost there! Nice day for a walk and the sunshine and 50 degrees.
