Townsend State Forest. This started out being the Brown course on a BYOM event, But the stream was rushing from the rain yesterday and I was very hesitant to cross it, knowing it was just the start of the course. So I turned around and just did a loop on some trails, checking off a road on Citystrides in the process.

Bayberry Hill and Blood Rd, Townsend. I've been wanting to do this loop for some time, and maybe I shouldn't have picked the day after a huge rain storm, but I did it anyway. Large, large puddle in the road at one point surrounded by mountain laurel, so had to do quite a go-around. But I did it and that's some more roads to say I've completed. And lots of Fireball nips for the collection.

Mulpus +, Shirley. Rain let up a bit so I went out and picked up a decent number of streets without a lot of distance. Raining actually pretty much tthe entire time, but not pouring the way it was earlier.

Main St +, Townsend. Not so fun walking along busy 119, but was astute enough to realize that I could go back along the rail trail and enjoy less traffic, but rather difficult walking at times as they are still working on tearing up the railbed.

Old Battery Rd +, Townsend. Beautiful day so got out early to do a fun loop along the power line and back on Old Battery Rd. Was quite successful and picked up some trash as well..

Finished up the Northwest corner of Townsend with Greenville Rd +. Forgot to grab a plastic bag and had to just walk past all of the nips along the road. Luckily it got dark and I could just view the beautiful full moon. More traffic than I was expecting though.

Event: HVO James Baird State Park

Green Course, James Baird State Park, HVO. Very happy that the rain stopped in time to have a nice outing in the woods. A bit longer a course than I'd like but it worked out well and I didn't come in last. It will help prepare me for Montana. A bit sloppier than usual in the circle and made strange choices at times but all in all I'm pleased. Lots of nice conversation at the end of the meet.
