8 PM

hiking 1:08:50 [3] 5.46 km (12:37 / km) +11m 12:30 / km

Further exploration of 'The Bears" of Westford area, finding connector trails between cul-de-sacs. Didn't find one we were looking for, though. Very warm and humid, but at least the sun was gone.

walking on road 1:06:52 [3] 6.15 km (10:53 / km) +83m 10:11 / km

Belnap Point in the light and an attempt to catch sight of Kimball Castle without trespassing too much. Wish I had gotten out earlier while it was still foggy.

9 AM

hiking 38:33 [3] 3.64 km (10:36 / km) +26m 10:14 / km

On the way home from J-J's., from the Groton Senior Center and back through Hemlock Grove and Lawrence Park Conservation Area. Very, very warm
9 PM

walking on road 32:41 [3] 3.07 km (10:38 / km) +22m 10:16 / km

Belnap Point in the dark from the Giggey lake house, to get to my desired number of steps for the day. Very humid and quite uncomfortable.

walking on road 49:12 [3] 4.36 km (11:17 / km) +79m 10:21 / km

The long way back from Seeley's to J-J's to get some exercise in this humid weather. I'll be exercising a lot at night this summer, I fear.

Tuesday Jul 7, 2020 #

8 AM

hiking 18:53 [3] 1.71 km (11:04 / km)

Amos Kendall Conservation Trust on my way to pick raspberries. Not the most interesting area (used mainly for dog-walkers and Xmas tree cutting in December), but I just needed to get something in this morning.
7 PM

hiking 56:46 [3] 2.88 mi (19:43 / mi) +37m 18:57 / mi

Red Line Trail and Esker Trail of the Gamlin Springs Conservation Area. I needed something easy in the increasing humidity, and expected the trail to be clear almost two months after the microburst. But no, they purposely I believe left some stuff down across the trail to discourage others from stealing the profitable logs before they have a chance to clear it all. Still an amazing mess from some of the vantage points, but they have also done a huge amount of clearing.

9 AM

hiking 1:14:18 [3] 5.79 km (12:49 / km) +75m 12:03 / km

Exploring "The Bears" of Westford, off Griffin Road. Very buggy and uncomfortably hot, but many of my group had fun.
7 PM

hiking 7:50 [3] 0.51 km (15:13 / km) +38m 11:05 / km

Up Gibbett HIll for the sunset.
8 PM

hiking 7:33 [3] 0.5 km (15:08 / km)

Back down.

1 PM

hiking 1:26:09 [3] 7.1 km (12:08 / km) +155m 10:57 / km

Midstate Trail through Buck Hill Conservation Area and Spencer State Forest. While J-J was hang gliding at Tanner-Hiller Airport, I grabbed a chance to complete another small section of the midstate. At this rate, I'll be working on it for quite some time. But it is something. Not as uncomfortable as I had feared.
