Another long loop through the suburban trails of Westford. I had no idea you could loop through so much of this town without getting on many roads. Beginning of the hike had pretty faint trails and I had a bit of a hard time following, but the majority were quite nice. Pretty day with the humidity dropping. Came almost face to face with a deer, which was pretty cool.

Came close to breaking my streak, but ended up checking out the old quarry where a movie was filmed a while back. Was quite pretty in spots, but an amazing amount of trash up there that I'll try to start cleaning out.

Took it easy today and walked down to see how the Swan Family on Mill Pond were doing. Was saddened to see that there are only three cygnets left, but was happy to have a beautiful sighting of a Great Blue Heron. And there wasn't a train to get in the way.

Winston and Yellow Girl wanted to watch the sunset from Bear Hill, so I obliged, first taking a swing along the Red Line trail to see how the clearing of the storm damage was coming. They've made great progress and I only had to go around just at the end to get to a trail to cut east. Was pretty dark getting back to the car. Removed the time I was sitting on the top watching the sunset.

Hiking with J-J through the Stony Brook Conservation Land, Grassy Pond Conservation land, Lakeside Terrace Conservation Land, and the Trolley Line. Nice long loop through the trails of Westford without driving anywhere.
