With Stephen and J-J in Groton Town Forest. Stephen did better today with J-J there to pace him. I felt like I had to work to keep up, which is good news. Nice day.
In answer to "is there a way around the big pond on the powerlines south of Dan Parker?" the answer is yes! Went powerlines south to the Marsh gate. Just inside the gate, trail to the left which merged into other trail that ran west of the lake and fed right into powerline road at other side of lake. Went down the powerline until the bend, then back by the trail which led directly back to powerline road with out going on Marsh property. I just couldn't see it in the winter.
Twice around the Pratt's Brook Conservation Land, just over the border into Acton from West Concord. It was a cute little area to check out, and was a nice change from the usual streets of West Concord.
With Stephen, on right fork off Dan Parker to Martins Pond, then back via the cutoff. We seemed to be moving better than yesterday, at least until he rolled his ankle pretty badly on the cutoff. He's now got ice on it. I'm concerned that I seem to be waiting up for him a lot, even at my snails pace. He's got a long way to go in 5 wks.
Out with Stephen. On same loop as J-J did last week, as I had never done that version. Not as fast at all as J-J did. I was pulling Stephen along most of the time. Pushed him to wear his soccer cleats for the snow and ice, but it's obvious he needs larger shoes. Maybe that will help the next outing.
