Mowing Lawn 30:00 [3]

At this point, I'll take any exercise I can fit in. Maybe after this weekend's recital I can start getting out again.

Orienteering 3:08:52 [3] 12.5 km (15:07 / km)

Actually a very nice day to run around in the woods. After fearing a 1:15 map in rain, I was so pleased to hear of the 1:10 and Peter Dady did a great job bringing in the sun! I could read the map! Thank you. Was pretty happy how I did, except for the fact that I completely messed up #13, which negated all of the benefit from skipping #12. What a waste. Enjoyed the course from #13 on with Peter Goodwin. Not my best Billygoat, but so proud of Stephen's performance and happy that we could all (J-J, Stephen and I) come home with shirts. All of the Airborne, Vitamin C, hot showers, Sudafed and Ibruprofen actually worked!

Event: Billygoat

Orienteering 25:00 [3]

Walked around Sprint #2 with Stephen picking up controls #2, #3, #6 and #8. Wasn't overly happy with the rain, and encouraged the Trysons to find a "Peter" to handle the weather for Sunday.

walk/jog on trail 1:17:29 [3]

With Stephen and J-J in the Throne Hill Conservation Area in Groton. Ran through the rain storm and enjoyed the forest, but got turned around so that we didn't come out at the same place we went in.

walking on road 13:50 [3]

Stephen and I heading back to the parking lot for the car. J-J ran ahead and gave us a lift back to the car so we didn't have to walk the whole way. An unfortunate ending to a nice run.

hiking hills 1:30:00 [3] 2.5 mi (36:00 / mi)

Climbed Mt. Watatic. Thought I'd try and get Stephen in on a bit more training for the Billygoat, and convinced Rachel and Nicole (in celebration of Mother's Day) to come along. They didn't do too bad, and it was great to see Stephen so far ahead of us. He seems ready...

walk/jog on trail 1:12:15 [3] 4.2 mi (17:12 / mi)

Thought I'd check out what my snowshoe trails were like in the spring. Across from J-J's, left fork to Holman, back to fork, then right to bridge (yes, I saw it this time). Across into Hickory Woods to trail head at Island Rd then back. Starting to get pretty buggy unfortunately.

walking on road 57:33 [3] 4.18 km (13:46 / km)

After the longer run yesterday, a slower pace was nice around the block at J-J's. Broke in my new shoes which seemed to work out ok.

walk/jog on trail 1:35:12 [3] 6.0 mi (15:52 / mi)

Nashoba Brook/Spring Hill/Camp Acton conservation land. Not as picturesque as some of the other conservation land I've been in lately, but was a good bit of exercise. Went quite slowly maybe in part to the 85+ degree temps of the day. Not used to that yet!

Orienteering 30:02 [3] 2.8 km (10:44 / km)

Actually shadowed Stephen, who almost completely navigated the advanced course alone. He did great, and I'm not sure if I would have gone faster on my own.

Orienteering 1:32:21 [3] 5.33 km (17:20 / km) +162m 15:02 / km

Didn't feel as well as the earlier two days, but this virus will take some time to get over. Still had a nice time, this day spending most of the run in the woods alone. Went very slowly most of the time, which ended up being a pretty good plan.

Orienteering 1:24:58 [3] 5.54 km (15:20 / km) +240m 12:36 / km

A much better outing than last week, when I was feeling so horrible. Certainly not a clean run and could have saved time in all kinds of places, but no major misses. Fell pretty hard going into #5 and my hand was throbbing for much of the rest of the course. This time, I had Gayle Ryan with me for much of the course.

Orienteering 20:59 [3] 2.2 km (9:32 / km) +55m 8:29 / km

As sprints go, this one was actually pretty fun. Beautiful day and feeling better, so it was quite enjoyable. Wish I hadn't followed Lisa Carr around the course, but she was doing quite well and I just couldn't pass her.

Orienteering 45:04 [3] 3.0 km (15:01 / km)

Spent quite a bit of time in spots helping out Stephen. This was a real tough course for him to do without a shadow, so I helped him along in places. Sacrificing my own run for my child... :-). Not that I could have done much better anyway...
