Orienteering 1:29:57 [3]

Can't believe that I forgot my watch at J-J's so no track and distance. But the course went ok, considering it was raining most of the course and I was pretty unprepared. Borrowed some stuff from J-J and wore my rain coat on the course, which I rarely ever do. Considered dropping to yellow, but ended up having a decent time. 13th out of 30 made for a much better showing than yesterday, and thanks to Barb not going out, I came home with an award.

Certainly not the best showing, but at least I was out on Brown. Too much climb up and down to make my knee very happy. And I'm still pretty scared. If we could only count from #2 to the finish, I might have done quite well. Couldn't figure out how to make the compass, map, hiking pole trio work for a while. 22nd out of 32. No where close to goal.

Can't believe I forgot to check the charge on my watch and it died as I got to the first control! Dropped to yellow due to fears (probably unfounded) for my knee, but ribs are bothering me too, so I played it safe. Beautiful weather for the weekend. I guess spring is here after all.

I thought I was finished skiing for the year, but new snow and an opportunity to stay at Teri's house convinced me to try Loon one more time. Rental shop said that I could keep the skis so here I am, without J-J who has returned to orienteering. Five runs before a break, trying to hit the spots that I had missed in the first three outings at this resort. Of course as soon as I come back home, I see two blue runs I missed for the season. Pretty pleased with how it went, as the conditions were almost perfect for my ailments. Max pass day #29!

5 more runs after my clementine break, so 310 runs for the season. Not too shabby. Knee kiinda sore by the end, but could have (and has been) much worse.

Max Pass Day #28 at Killington with J-J. A better day for the knee as the cooler temps made the snow firmer and easier to turn. Four runs before a break, staying on pretty easy slopes.

Skiing 1:09:22 [3] 8.38 mi (8:17 / mi) +1397m 5:27 / mi

Last four runs, most likely for the year, for a total of exactly 300 runs. Knee held up as the snow stayed firm. Great winter, with thanks to J-J for coming along for the ride. 28 days on the Max Pass equaled $22.46 per day of skiing or $2.10 per run. Not too bad. Add that to some fine Airbnb's and great opportunities for exploring. Am sorry to see it end, but I did buy my beach pass for the summer last night :-).
