Whelp... This one was a doozy.

Time Lost:

Control 5: Bad route choice, I dropped all the way down to the creek just to regain almost all of it while running on the trail. Resulted in a very brutal run, really regretted not contouring.

Control 6: Got pushed too far south and I couldn't find the shallow reentrant. Due to the thickness of the vegetation t took me awhile to recover.

Control 7: Ok so, I ran my route well until I got to a spur which I expected to be south of. However, I wandered off my route and went over it, resulting in me thinking I was on a spur farther down my route. When I got to the spur I got confused as to where I was. I eventually realized where I was and shot a rough compass bearing. On my bearing I was expecting to see a line of ruined earth banks, but I got to a separate line of ruined earth banks. I used these to check my compass bearing thinking I was at the other earth banks. My compass bearing was of course off from what I expected so I re-shot my bearing off of the wrong feature. This led me into the wrong reentrant which I wondered around for far too long. I found control 8 which let me re orientate and get to 7.

Control 9: Shot a compass bearing off a linear feature thinking I as at the bottom when I was at the top. I ran into the wrong reentrant and got very turned around when I couldn't figure out where I was along my backstop. eventually I managed to relocate.

Overall, very bad course but it happens. Definitely not an accurate indicator of my capabilities in off trail terrain. Luckily for me, my performance yesterday allowed me to hold onto 3rd for the weekend.

Rolling off of the momentum of yesterday's great course. Few small mistakes and one large mistake. Didn't quite go as fast as I was hoping but the clean race made up for it. Lost to Ben... damn it

Time lost:

Control 1: I was planning on attacking off of a narrow ride which didn't exist so I had to stop and find a set of knolls to use as my attack point. Maybe 30 seconds of confusion.

Control 6: My only big mistake, I identified a smaller, false hilltop as the hilltop I was planning on attacking off of. This resulted in me getting pulled into one reentrant before the correct one. Due to them being nearly identical I spent too long in the wrong reentrant. Around 2-minute mistake

Very fast and clean race, really proud of my performance on this one and a good start to the weekend. First place!

Time lost:

Control 6: I was hesitant along my route because I was trying to find a faster route, resulted in me going far to slow. Shouldn't have been hesitant and just committed and gone all out

Control 9: I was looking to far ahead on my map and got ahead of my navigation. This resulted in me getting to a spur which was a catching feature and thinking it was my attack point. Really bone headed move and probably a 90 second mistake before I realized where I was

Control 13: I was aiming off to the left, planning on hitting a trail on the backside of the control, but got pushed to the right of the control. When I got to the trial I thought I was on the left and went right when I was already on the right. Only caught myself when I reached a bridge, another 90 second mistake

Control 14: Didn't want to jump across the super steep river banks and injure myself so I went around on a bridge. Not a mistake but slower route choice.
