Bike - Gravel 1:40:29 intensity: (5:01 @1) + (44:27 @2) + (35:28 @3) + (15:30 @4) + (3 @5) 34.55 km (2:55 / km) +485m 2:43 / km

Evening ride with Matt, I was on the gravel bike to try and get adjusted to the saddle while he was speeding away on his road bike. Actually felt quite decent, although I wasn't moving very fast. Lovely evening and ticked off a few lanes that I hadn't cycled before.

Run - Trail 32:26 intensity: (7 @0) + (1:03 @1) + (2:10 @2) + (4:45 @3) + (16:57 @4) + (7:24 @5) 5.56 km (5:50 / km) +223m 4:52 / km

Run from the start of the Preseli Beast to the first saddle, stopping in Rosebush Quarries to take a few photos. Worked quite hard to get ahead on people on the climb (so I could catch them again at the top) but was still slower than when I actually did the race.

Run - Trail 23:42 intensity: (9 @0) + (43 @1) + (32 @2) + (2:53 @3) + (18:36 @4) + (49 @5) 3.74 km (6:20 / km) +127m 5:25 / km

From the saddle to the last summit. Quite a long wait for people to come through, which was thankfully mostly in the sun. Cold wind though and a mist came in from the sea to from the northwest.
2 PM

Run - Trail 22:16 intensity: (2:01 @0) + (9:31 @1) + (9:17 @2) + (1:27 @3) 5.35 km (4:10 / km)
ahr:111 max:134 shoes: Salomon Sense Pro

Back down to the finish following the race route, lots of easy down hill, which was very nice. Ran reasonably hard but tried not to get in the way of those struggling to finish. Lovely and sunny at the finish.

Another short lunchtime trot to try and form a habit of getting out regularly. Grand day again but hip silly a bit moany.

Easy out towards Lesser Garth. Surprised how tired the legs still are from last weekend (on maybe just from being unfit in general). Hip a bit achy as usual from 10-25 mins but otherwise okay. Been a while since I've run 8 days in a row!

Run - Trail 32:47 intensity: (27 @1) + (2:46 @2) + (23:04 @3) + (6:10 @4) + (20 @5) 5.14 km (6:23 / km) +120m 5:43 / km
ahr:138 max:166 shoes: Salomon Trailster 2

Lunchtime trot up Nant y Bedw to try and keep myself active. Not sunny but nice and mild. Found the climbing half hard work but a bit more alive on the way back, although still right slow.

Run - Trail 1:20:03 intensity: (6:23 @1) + (26:08 @2) + (35:14 @3) + (11:43 @4) + (35 @5) 10.19 km (7:51 / km) +390m 6:36 / km

MDC from Bedws (GNB race route). Opted for to join the steady group as still very tired from the weekend. Climb, as usual, was unpleasant, but once up the rest of this route is pretty nice - bluebells also looking amazing.

Warm up 1. Lots of slow circles of the nice flat grassy area. Well needed.

IOC Relays, Knockrear, 2nd leg (with Darren and Shane)
Course was more interesting than I was expecting from a parkland area, but it was still pretty easy. Darren sent me out just behind GEN (Gerry Browne) and ahead of CNOC (Conall). Knew Gerry was handy enough but though I may have dropped him after the first little loop - also knew Conall was much faster so not surprised to see him disappear on the open bit.
Dodgy control site in the woods saw us pretty much back together. I was lucky and got it first, but then chose a safe route to the spectator a few controls later where they both caught me - Roar, on CNOC second team, also appeared at this point.
Punched too quick (for the second time) with the super slow SI cards that we were provided with and had to return to punch, allowing both Roar and Gerry past, from which point I was just following.
Nothing much in the legs for the last climb but did close in on Roar, but Gerry was gone (and Conall well so after the spectator). Fun, but a good few minutes off the pace.
Shane was steady enough on the last leg to hold second, despite a miss from both him and Kev. CNOC the faster team in this sort of area so 2nd not a bad result for our handicap 6 team!
