Walk above Lowewater with Caitlin and Ben. Very pleasant and some nice paths and nice to have an easy day. Even stayed dry and mostly sunny, although the wind was cold. Bluebells looking good in the woods.

last minute change of plans from the Trossachs as the forecast there was awful, so instead headed west to clearer skies. Didn't get much in the way of sun, but it also stayed dry, although the wind was quite harsh.

Loop from Dunoon across to Bute and back to the mainland, mostly roads but an interesting and fun off road bit on the northern side of Bute. Nice to be cycling without weight on the bike as well. Rush as the end to make a ferry into a strong headwind, but made it with a few seconds to spare. Good day out and nice to visit a less popular part of the country.

Up Ben Nevis as Ben had not been up before (whereas it was only 34 years ago that I last went up). had wanted to do a more interesting route but it was obviously looking at the summit yesterday that there was too much snow up high to tackle them without winter gear.

Walked at a steady pace all the way up with only a few brief stops to add layers as it got colder. Above 1200m it was all soft snow, very wind and pretty cold. Sat in the shelter on the summit for some food and tea (had the summit to ourselves) before heading back down.

Aside from being quite long, the climb is actually very easy and gradual and actually pretty much as I remember it. Saw just over 100 people on the path (and a snow bunting). Not the most exciting walk but nice to do again and the weather on the top made it a bit more interesting.

Bikepacking Scotland Day 5. After getting wet yesterday and with a poor forecast to the east today, we opted to cut the planned route over General Wade's Military Road short and instead took the very easy option of heading straight along the Great Glen.

Just about all cycle routes with some nice stretches of old railway, small paths and minor roads, but also some mucky forest tracks and more sections of the rather dull canal path. Bonus castle on the edge of Fort William as well. Nice to round the trip off with an easy ride.

Easy afternoon walk up to the Falls of Steall. Not a bad day and the walk was nice and quiet. Took the lesser traveled route back along the south side of the river which provided a great view back up the valley towards the falls - deserves to be more popular.
