Out with Mark again, meeting him at Caerphilly Mountain. Struggling to get any power into my legs, especially on gradual hills and then ran out of it completely on the steeps ones. Back to rain and wind and very un-summer temperatures.

With Mark from Storey Arms, him doing the Mountain Trial that I did about a month or so ago. Despite taking an hour longer than when I did it I found it hard work and was struggling to keep jogging - think the past few weeks will need a bit more recovery time. Windy, but it felt amazingly warm in the sun - must have hit 14 degrees!

Note

Survey day, lots of short walks and one quite big one. Cold and windy to start, but wind died down around midday and it almost felt like summer (in my fleece lined trousers, thermal and waterproof).

Bike - Road 32:50 intensity: (5:56 @1) + (24:27 @2) + (2:27 @3) 12.94 km (2:32 / km) +20m 2:31 / km

IW. Two idiot drivers this morning, a lady in a Fiat 500, who at the same roundabout as yesterday, had to get past immediately before, cutting me up and breaking when only half way past, And then turning into the station 50m later... And a guy in a Jag who also had to pass when a car was coming the other way, only to have to queue in traffic 100m later... Also saw Martyn, not sure what he was doing running in the Taff Trail at that time in the morning.
4 PM

Bike - Road 31:03 intensity: (24 @0) + (4:43 @1) + (12:18 @2) + (13:24 @3) + (14 @4) 12.57 km (2:28 / km) +22m 2:27 / km
ahr:131 max:152

HFW. No idiots this evening. But a lot of wind. However, the cycle route was swept during the day and all the debris from last night was gone - wonder if that was by design or a lucky coincidence?
6 PM

Run - Trail 1:41:59 intensity: (2:01 @0) + (18:33 @1) + (48:46 @2) + (25:07 @3) + (7:03 @4) + (29 @5) 13.29 km (7:40 / km) +479m 6:30 / km

MDC run around the Nuadd horseshoe. Poor forecast and only 6 if us. Went pretty well kitted up but added layers: long lycra, thermal, t-shirt, goretex and buff. Was just about enough. Run was in mist, rain and wind and not at all warm. Legs were spent so skipped Cribyn and Corn Du. Also skipped the BBQ in favour of a pub meal.

IW. Not surprising, legs were a bit heavy.
5 PM

Bike - Road 31:55 intensity: (25 @0) + (11:47 @1) + (18:05 @2) + (1:38 @3) 12.91 km (2:28 / km) +23m 2:27 / km

HFW. Cut up by a lady in a mini who just had to get past me approaching the roundabout out side Taffs Well station. Good job I didn't want to go straight on. She turned off at the next junction 200m down the road.

Drafted a guy most of the way home, was thinking it may be Jules be wasn't close enough to be sure and was too tired to put the effort in to get past and see.
