Nice warm up run through the woods and back across the big dipper. Found a control (presumably dropped by a collector yesterday).

Run - Orienteering race 25:20 intensity: (5:00 @3) + (15:00 @4) + (5:20 @5) 4.35 km (5:50 / km) +12m 5:45 / km

Merthyr Mawr, Open,km, 120m, 18controls.
Some sort of handicap race I believe, one course for all, but also gaffled... Whatever, it was a fun little course and felt much longer than it was. Quads quite tight today so the pace dropped quite a bit in the second half, where a few small mistakes also crept in. As per yesterday, started int eh wood and then had a few controls in the open. Results much the same as yesterday with BenM running well but Richard and Jegor were a bit further in front today.

Welsh Champs, Merthyr Mawr, M21E, 8.8km, 315m.
New bit of forest added for the race was a worthy edition, although not super detailed there was enough going on to be interesting and it was very clean running. Had a long loop at the start in here and a few few at the end (would have planed it the other way around myself).
Not much in the way of navigational errors today, just a few seconds here and there. Was running quite effortlessly but just didn't have any racing speed, guess it's due to quite a bit last week, quads also tightening up towards teh end (have neglected working on them recently). Wasn't bothered as didn't target the race, but did enjoy it. Annoyed to be a few seconds behind both RichardR and Jegor though. BenM way out in front (wouldn't have got close to him even if running well).

Easy on the road loop behind the parents to test the back. it didn't seem to like going uphill too much (and my ankle not so keen on going down...) but things definitely a lot better than yesterday. Not so sunny today and even a bit of wind. Enjoyed this a surprising amount.

Deadly sore back after sitting in a chair last night, so much so that at times movement is not an option, but then grand at others. Too sore to run but, so tried to stretch it out instead.

Exploring west of Campagne, some really nice trails and hills but not enough time. Ankle was grand until the last downhill at the end, where it quickly got really sore. Another lovely day and sunny and war, enough to dry the mud from yesterdays rain.

With Greg up to Rennes le Chateau on the road - heavy rain (comparatively) in the afternoon ruled out running on most trails (clay makes it impossible). Nice steady pace and my ankle nerves hardly complained at all.

Evening run, not wanting to get out and feeling stiff, but couldn't not go. Slow and easy start but once warmed up feeling a whole lot better and the legs forgot about the past few days. Lovely evening to be in the hills.
