M21E entered for the JK... Was thinking of doing M40 but then noticed it's two weeks before the IOC so it'll be good classic race conditioning (as you get so few opportunities to do such these days).

Now to make a fool of myself! Goal this year is WMOC M40, it's not until November so I there should be plenty of time to get into decent shape. Not having done a WMOC I don't know what I should be aiming for but I think I'd be disappointment with a top 10, but don't know if a top 5 or a medal is realistic.

Prior to that I'd like to retain the IOC classic title and regain the relay (with those two I don't mind some junior - or Dooby - fighting over the middle!)). Otherwise a multi-day event over the summer with some good M40 competition would be good, but they're lacking (O-Ringen is dull terrain and SOW may be a bit pricy), any other ideas?

Now comes your bit, I'd welcome any feedback or suggestions on training, now and throughout the year, especially on things that I'm missing from my usual training.

(Constructive) criticism welcome.

Exploring the lanes and alleys around Canton as I didn't want to go far and couldn't face the repetitive monotony of doing yesterdays run for a third time! Plan was to head out before it started raining, this plan worked, only I didn't make it back before it started raining... Was rewarded by finding a few unknown cut-throughs and by feeling a lot better running, though my legs still don't fully understand what they're supposed to be doing.

Day 2. Round Llandaf and Pontcanna Fields for the second time since I've been here (14 months), decided to mix things up a bit and ran the opposite direction. Body has forgotten what running is and was stiff and reluctant to do anything, also very wet and and slippery underfoot so progress was slow. Good to be out though.

Quick (actually slow)trot around Guiseley before leaving. Felt awful, but mostly due to not doing anything for two weeks I think. Several more easy days needed.

Not ill anymore but not exactly bouncing off the walls either. Didn't have time to get any exercise in. Skipton is a nice town.
