Not having run for a week I opted for a decent warm up. Needed it, but feeling okay by the end.

Harvester, Longmoor, Leg 3 for FVO, 9.2km, 265m, 22 controls. Good race, both in terms of navigation and course, though perhaps the gaffeling was a little too extreme to allow any close racing. Went out with the plan of staying safe (after hearing leg 1 horror stories of searching endless bracken for pits) and stuck to it, stopping as soon as things were feeling a little wrong. Lost a few seconds here and there and certainly wasn't moving quickly, but never got lost so a sensible plan I feel.

Got caught by Danger (DEE) about 2/3 of the way around (who was comfortably cruising in a gear higher than I could find) but he missed the next control and I sneaked through and never saw him again (because his torch failed rather than anything to do with brilliance on my behalf!).

Duncan (BOK) was also close behind for quite a bit of the race but as we had completely different courses I never knew he was there. Past Charlie (SYO) somewhere without knowing to hand over to Tom with a couple of minutes lead. Job done.

Not quite so successful for us for the rest of the relay though, eventually finishing in 5th nearly 30 minutes down - probably the closet Harvester for some time in terms of time between the top 5.

Feeling okay today but haven't done anything more than map a school so will just have to find out how things are going when I get running in the Harvester.

Note
(rest day)

Felt completely drained of energy all day so gave up on any plans to join the MDC run this evening (one day I will make it to the Black Mountains!) in favor of an evening of nothing. Body obviously needs it.

4.1.1 East bumble with a few of the BOK gang from Keith’s around Long Ashton (I think?) on a lovely mild evening. Despite the easy pace I was far from feeling bouncy and my body had had quite enough by the end. Going to have to have more rest and hope I'm feeling okay come the weekend. Dr Bown making good progress through Finnish initiation tests...
