Slightly longer route than last weekend, but again out to the west of the city. Dull and overcast heading out but it didn't take all that long for the sun to come out and it was very enjoyable pottering around in the autumn sunshine. Had the wind behind me on the way out, but it was feeling excessively kind today and had died down quite a bit by the time I headed for home, result. Furthest cycle (in distance at least) that I've done in some time.

Headed out to the woods and hills around Castell Coch for a bit of an explore, turned out to be one of the nicest trail runs that I've ever done. Had a mix of everything; some open ridges and hills, woodland trails and old bridleways, grassy paths and autumn leaves (and all in the sun). Was running quite slow so none of the many hills were all that hard work (which is great as I now have a mental image of it being a relatively easy run!). What a great run.

(rest day)

Feeling a little tired so having a rest day (think I've actually earned one this week).

Run - Road 1:03:18 intensity: (7:30 @1) + (35:00 @2) + (17:30 @3) + (3:18 @4) 13.08 km (4:50 / km) +42m 4:46 / km

Supposed to be a short easy run, but as the sun was out (again!) and I had more exploring to do, it ended up longer than planned, discovered Heath Park though which is really nice. Also worked out how far out is a 30 minute run to work, which would be a nice distance to live away as it'd be an easy cycle, pleasant run and should allow for better running options in the other direction.

Run - Trail 2:05:41 intensity: (20:00 @1) + (1:10:00 @2) + (30:00 @3) + (5:41 @4) 25.0 km (5:02 / km) +155m 4:53 / km

Another lovely sunny day so a good opportunity to explore a bit more of the city. Headed up through Roath park and then across some cycle lanes and housing estates to the Taff trail. Took it slowly but was feeling it after 20km (especially as the last bit was on road) - had to do an extra 4m to make the 25km! Still no sign of a sheep.

Joined the Monday evening BOK run from Clifton courtesy of a lift from Mark S. Nice and gentle run, a nice route, and a good group, although I had no idea where we were in the dark (first headlight run of the year). Legs a little wobbly from yesterdays cycle - how do triathletes many to race straight off the bike?
